Not Manchester.  Feels too to familiar to Londoners and also there’s a lot of investment there.  They should move to a northern town which is not easy to get to by train and is in decline.  Nottingham felt shabby last time I was there.  They need to see the real world.

OK, so that is a vote for St Helens.

The only question now is the exact venue.

The rugby stadium has some halls:

The entire Midlands is run down and shabby. Leicester has a very Third World feel to it. Coventry is a long delay on the M6.

Birmingham is still close to London, well connected by rail, road and train.

They should move permanently to a campus in Greater Manchester handy for HS2 and Manchester airport. Brum is still pretty southerly tbh. And with HS2 time to London would be very low anyway.

Christchurch in Dorset where we have the oldest population in the UK, they can even use the old civic centre which is closing aa part of the amalgamation with Bournemouth and Poole with the aim of city status.  When they doze off after a lovely 7 course meal and wine they can wonder down to the harbour after collecting their 350 per day and then drive home to their 2nd holiday home just down the road.

Really? Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon, Worcester...?

Have you ever been to the actual third world?

Coventry to London is not that bad by car (a lot quicker than from Manchester!), and does not take long by train.

We have decided on St Helens.

I think they will like it.
