lol what ?

You know what gets me all the oil in the North Sea is a huge windfall for the Exchequer he should be using this.

No need for new taxes or anything like that.

Norway and Alaska are among states that pay such a "dividend".

This is hilarious, this guy is done. He sounds like the lazy employee who uses the slightest hint of IT hiccup to bunk off work.

How about we use some of the windfall tax dividend on our formerly state owned oil companies to pay for improvements to creaking government IT infrastructure, Sunak?

Can't stand this worm.

I still can't understand what he's trying to say if he wants to help people then he can how about using the North Sea gas like I said  to give us all a rebate.

this may be a rare time where I agree with @byron78

I hope we agree on more as what this government represents becomes more apparent to you all tbh.

You all have the highest tax burden of any working generation since WW2.

I would ask you to think how that has happened. How was a country able to re-home, rebuild, and start a national health service for all off the back of that? How was it possible no UK infrastructure was private, council houses were commonplace, and jobs were plentiful?

Yes... defo fewer immigrants. 100%.

But the key thing that has happened is income being taxed more and more and assets not being taxed (at least not much).

The burden has been put on you workers and not us capitalists.

So you can probably see why I scoff when folks suggest socialism might be the problem...

(Or at least you will learn to as you grow in life. It took me over 60 years and I was a commited bloody Thatcherite at one point).

The solution is a citizens income for all.........£1k a month would be a good start imo.

They can just printy printy it.

A citizens income is what we will do in the long term I hope and suspect.

It just makes so much more sense than the myriad of benefits and allowances that we have now.

Socialism and capitalism died decades ago, both ideologies in their purest forms try to benefit the people…however nowadays it all about our leaders just feathering their own nest.

Maybe easier if we blame everything on the Russians…..seen it on the news. That ensures we don’t start hanging our own leaders from lampposts.

Just keep printing money….it is possible to print food, gas, oil, commodities?

Prognosis isn’t good….hold on tight.😉

I don't believe Corbyn wanted to feather his own nest and this is why the leech f4cks in the 'establishment' done a hatchet job on him, which the retarded 'budding capitalist' serfs all  swallowed.

The thick public in the UK like politicians who 'feather their own nests', because that's what they aspire to themselves.

Human animals at their finest.

I guess the same IT problem prevented his wife from paying taxes.

Thats just taking money from tax payers and giving it to someone else.

Doesnt help the overall cost of living.

BoE needs to move to put a good 1% chunk between base rates and the FED.

Having your currency fall against the $ is brutal these days. Fall goes straight onto your inflation figures..

Re: Windfall Tax.

How many tax payers here own chunks of BP and Shell?

Must admit I defo have BP shares.

But unless we're saying only British tax payers can buy shares in formerly British owned companies, I'm not sure this logic holds?

Who here has BP or Shell shares, how much was your last dividend, and would it upset you if that was slightly lower as a result of a Windfall Tax?

Personally wouldn't bother me one jot. I might feel differently if it wasn't war and Russia driving prices to the moon, but right now the patriotic British thing to do would be whatever is best for most Brits I think.
