Such is the way of things now politically here and in the US. Clearly there was the caring and welfare of a 4 year old child to consider - but not clear why that couldn’t have happened in London if one parent was well. No doubt it will be speculated endlessly. Robert Jenrick visited several of his homes travelling long distances without the mitigating argument of caring for a young child while ill I believe and he didn’t quit - and he is a Cabinet minister leading the government press conference at least once a week not a back room operator. Brexit and Election victories delivered the loosers will be trying to force the PMs hand but he either has to stay or be sacked and backseat drive if i was in conservative hq. The police say they spoke to the occupiers of the house, rather than to him or his wife. But if the occupiers are his parents, he's stretching the truth by going with the line that the police did not speak to his family. It's silly really - he broke the law and the law has a consequence - a fine. If he gets fined, the story goes away. Maybe he does not mind if the story continues to run. I wonder why. Ferguson aint losing his job nor should he. Dominic Cummings it seems was getting his kids to his parents so they would be looked after and relatively safe if he had severe COVID-19. Seeing what happened to Johnson i can't blame him and, as a parent myself, i would've done the same no matter what the consequences were. I bet a lot of the cabinet are going to quickly turn on Johnson if the fear of an angry Dom reprisal evaporates. A lot of the blame has been pushed out to them, and Johnson rarely if ever even shows his face. No doubt the odious Gove is lining up to take a shot. I'm not UK legislation expert, but isn't it criminal act under existing UK laws, exposing or transmitting infection even if no harm was intended?
