Lib dems and snp voted for election as thought it would reward them handsomely (correct in case snp, terribly wrong for lib dems). Those two parties votes along with tories were enough to force election. Labour forced to agree despite secretly knowing this was on the cards. Corbyn must take blame for his own failings by resigning. But judging by results in brexit voting former heartlands about to turn blue, those who pulled labour towards remain were wrong.
