Sir Kier Starmer is no leader for the people. He is just another part of the establishment as his support of this toe rag alludes to

Our political system is rigged and until we get an alternative party then there will never be real change in this country.

You'll not how the establishment press (Times) are soft-supporting Starmer and attacking Boris, they know they are happy with Starmer leading from the next election.

I think this all boils down to competence.

Brexit served to provide cover for noisy incompetents. Now the incompetents are in charge, no amount of noise will cover things up - especially when the Captain shouts full steam ahead into the Iceberg field.

The sooner Boris is removed, along with his coterie of f**ktards (Patel, Williamson, Hancock, Cummings,  Jenrick etc) the better. It would also be great if the replacement also undoes the Brexit f**kwhittery too - even the piloting skills of Chewbacca in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon couldn't get through the field of flying turds and detritus created by Boris!

We will never get an alternative party. 80% of the print media is owned by neo-lib masters of destuction. Love him or hate him, Corbyn was crucified by the right wing media as he represented a challenge to the natural order.

Sir Kier isnt my first choice but a better alternative to the joke party that the Tories have become.

The one good thing is that this pandemic is going to destroy the natural order.  The neo-lib masters of destruction are not going to have an economy shortly.....lol.

Fook them and their useless system.

The print media are fast becoming less relevant as fewer people under a certain age even buy them so it's wide open and you can sense the battle for people hearts and minds is well under way in the online 'culture wars' which aren't really left and right as such but get labelled as this.

No doubt but who knows how the cookie will crumble and how it it play out.  State run economies? Open borders still? The whole world's relationship with china?  Further authoritarian gov or a big public pushback?

Agreed. It is another sinister plot by the elites to keep the proles fighting amongst themselves.

He shouldn’t be there in the first place.  But thick trash voted those clowns in.  Easily led thick trash get what they deserve, say let’s all call junk food shops “restaurants” while we’re  at it.

Unfortunately we all get what the tory voters deserve, thanks to our ridiculous voting system. Most people do not and did not vote for them. Under a proportional electoral system we would have never had a conservative government, as even in 1979 they only got 43% of the vote, not enough for an absolute majority of seats. We would practically always have coalition governments under the european voting systems. We don't get what we deserve, we get what we vote against. Equally to blame for this are the labour party since they are the other beneficiary of first past the post, so never reform it when they are in power.

That's the problem, he seems just to be the negation of Boris and the Tories. Nobody knows what, if anything, he stands for except being 'electable' e.g. pro-Israel and pro-defence industry, and he just goes around in a blue tie being "better than Boris". What are his policies? Does anyone know?

All started under Blair/Brown.

2003 Lisbon treaty allowing the whole of eastern Europe into the country .

The tories have taken baby steps to correct this (Brexit) but its long over due.  They are also borrowing and spending just like New Labour and will inevitably make an even bigger mess.

This is going to take a generation to sort out i.e 20-30 years . Politicians have to accept they need to cut spending and downsize the government . There is no other way.

Yeah, this is it really. If you have massive credit card debt, spending more will not get you out of it.

I actually disagree. If we told the politicians and their hangers-on (everyone from the Elite to those on housing benefit) to go pound sand, it would take 5 years max to sort everything out.

It would be a painful 5 years, but at the end of it, we would be the world's strongest economy per capita.

Exactly this. FPTP is the worst system of all for translating the wishes of the nation's voters into a representative national assembly. In the search for a more representative system, many nations have changed their electoral systems, some more than once. Some have moved away from FPTP. Not a single one has ever made a change to FPTP.

I agree both parties are equally to blame.

Saying that most of the electorate think HTB is great - so maybe most of us are the problem.
