  1. Both me and missus got £0 the last two months and we have £43500 between us. Disappointed
  2. 1000s of kids dead - silence George Galloway wins a by-election - immediate speech outside no 10. Pathetic. Sunak has made his intentions clear; a further crackdown on our liberties and British democracy itself. This is what we should be afraid of, not some imagined threat from Islamists.
  3. Johnson said in his Mail column that he'd sign up and fight for the country, in the full knowledge he would be far past the maximum age of conscription. Could you imagine Blobby Johnson on the battlefield? he'd be hid in a fridge until the fighting stopped, jump out and claim the credit for victory.
  4. Long range weather forecasting is akin to predicting the future using tarot cards.
  5. The houses don't poof and disappear if a landlord doesn't buy them.
  6. This. AV is not proportional, which is why I voted against it in 2011.
  7. I think it definitely does, but it's all the LEGAL immigration that affect the prices. Under the Tories that has hit a record high.
  8. Unbelievable that Sunak is staking his party's entire reputation on a ridiculous, illegal and unworkable policy that started as a Boris Johnson brain fart, probably dreamt up during one of No. 10's boozy law breaking COVID parties. Sunak himself has been reported as believing the policy to be unworkable and wanted to ditch it, yet there he was on our TV screens, belying all previously held principles and like a pound shop dictator delivered the ominous warning to the Lords not to frustrate the "will of the people". Sunak has sold his soul. It's kind of sad to watch.
  9. Debt to GDP ratio today is less than half it was post-world war 2, yet a Labour government then managed to build over a million homes and founded the NHS to boot, when there was "no money left". The problem is, none of our current politicians have any vision, Labour included. Imo prosperity begins with cheap secure housing for all, as it did post WW2.
  10. Listening to talk radio this morning, there is absolutely no public appetite for this military action. Rishi Sunak should just redirect any British ships around Africa and stay out of it. But no, Sunak feels the need to defend global capitalism/Israeli/US interests, as is his nature (ex green card holder/ex hedge fund manager). Smh.
  11. Why would anyone pay £750k for a cottage in the middle of decking no where. Sellers are smoking crack.
  12. 2 tier system. For the well off, things seem just Rosey, to those that are subsisting on corporate slave wages, not so much. Wealth inequality is increasing back to Victorian levels. Personally I don't feel it, but it's always a mistake to base opinion on anecdotal evidence.
  13. Hopefully will be starting a new job with my cousin as an electrician's mate in Jan, since I acquired my level 2+3 diploma in electrical installation this year. Working towards my NVQ level 3 and becoming a fully qualified electrician (but not necessarily completing it) is my main goal for next year. Also we are expecting our first child in June, so big life changes incoming. My main focus is on making as much money as possible and sticking it away. Also our landlord has made it clear to us he would be open to sell us the house we rent off of him. He is aged, has multiple properties and no heirs. So one focus this year would be to continue to plant the psychological seeds of charity in his head.
