davidg
The chair of the Office for Budget Responsibility, Robert Chote, has claimed that if Greece exits the Euro the UK economy could "go down and you never quite get back up to where you started." http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/may/18/greek-euro-exit-uk-recessio

Executive Sadman
NWO Globalist EU Nazis: If all else fails, scaremonger. Its how the EU operates. Its how they got the Irish to bend over- by making threats. If the Irish had some balls, they'd call their bluff. Besides, we havent had real growth above debt for about, oh, wait, about as long as we've been in the EC/EU. Funny that.

aa3
Meanwhile Germany's corporations are seeing record revenues and profits in the booming global economy. The world as a whole is growing nicely. Tens and tens of millions of new consumers are entering the world market every year. Many of them being seriously rich people from the developing world. But you have to make things to sell to them. It doesn't even have to be high tech things. Look at France some of their biggest best companies sell simple stuff like LaFarge with its cement. Everybody needs cement, whether you are in Britain, Bahrain or Bangladesh. Step 1.. make stuff Step 2.. create barriers to entry Long story short, the posters on this thread are exactly right to make fun of the 'blame somebody else' cries of our leaders. Like I'm sorry but if Greece's economy faltering brings down your economy, you have one hell of a pathetic economy. Like maybe Cypriot olive growers feel that.. tax revneues down as Greeks switch to cheaper homemade olives.
Sir Harold m
What in ******s name do we have to fear from a grexiit? Cheap holidays? Retsina flooding the market ? The only thing I can think of is an influx of people to drive wages down and social costs up. Leave the holy shit show that is the eu a d we can watch from a distance with popcorn . Snugglybear
According to my teenage daughter, "grexit" is out of favour in whatever the blogosphere is currently called, and everyone's using the term "grout". Also, a letter in the Grauniad today suggests that if Portugal, Spain and Ireland leave the Euro, we could use "pout", "spout" and "eirecut".
