Where do you go to my lovely when you die?

The Aga Khan's place - or maybe the back-streets of Naples.

Who knows...?

My Memories of Peter Sarstedt

True story.

My mum once told me Sarstedt's older brother Eden Kane used to live a few doors away from us in Sutton

So I emailed Sarstedt to ask him if he had also lived near us.

He emailed back saying he hadn't. Which was nice of him.

I expect I will have yet another thrilling anecdote about the next celebrity who dies.

All born in India. Engelbert Humperdinck (born Madras),Peter Sarstedt (Delhi) and Cliff Richard (Lucknow)

Cliff Richard came from around Sutton too. He went to a school in Carshalton. And as Hotairmail also comes from the area, i guess that is the link.

As for Humperdinck, I presume he means the pop singer, not the composer.

I've already got her as my pick.

It is quite possible given her health and the stress levels to come.

Let's try and guess a date?

March 30th anyone?

In the first photo he looks like a man not long to live. In the second photo she looks like a wife who knows it.

I always feel sorry for them about the clothes their frail frames have to carry, the clothes must weigh a tonne. That coat he's wearing won't be lightweight. Most people their age are in soft stretchy fabrics. For example, the DoE in full ceremonial dress, no wonder they're giving up duties!
