Saberu
I was thinking recently maybe the reason there is so much anger on the forum is because some of you missed the boat and can't leverage up enough to get on the housing ladder. I just think BTL's are just smarter than the rest of us, we could learn a thing or two from them. They are savvy investors.
crashmonitor
For those that were not working before about 2003 the boat had already left and there was no choice. Anybody that had taken the plunge after 2004 and swam after the boat would have drowned in debt because for the past 8 year (London excepted) BTL has been a one way losing streak. Darkman
I was thinking recently maybe the reason there is so much anger on the forum is because some of you missed the boat It took you some deep thinking to come up with that gem? Wow, impressive. Yes some here have missed the boat, and logically they're angry about it. They've been screwed. And BTL is one of the reasons they've been screwed. Anyone who doesn't show some sympathy for the priced out has issues IMO.

I have a feeling I'm one of the poorer members of this forum and even I'm sitting on 75% deposit for what I want to buy at today's prices so I get the feeling you are mistaken. The anger is at the perpetuation, by government and BoE, of the malinvestment which is irrevocably damaging the economy having thought that the conservatives would have been somewhat more savvy than liebor. I don't think many would begrudge savy or lucky speculators who make money on Apple stock or metals, the problem is that shelter is a basic human requirement and I know too many younger people (including nephews and nieces) who feel their lives are on hold, unable to find a partner or start a family because they can't afford to buy or even rent a decent property. Their sense of frustration is understandable. Cheap ipods and laptops aren't much compensation.
