Gigantic Purple Slug
Have they worked out where the energy comes from in the absence of tidal heating? Orbital eccentricity will probably have some effect. They've already observed changes in the atmosphere over time. I think it was last closest to the sun around 1990 (inside the orbit of neptune) but remember the total orbital period is something like 250 years, with its closest distance being something like half its farthest distance. That probably represents a significant change in energy reaching the surface, which could drive all sorts of processes.

The Masked Tulip
Blue skies? Wow! There is hope for Humanity when the Sun grows bigger and envelopes the Earth - life might then thrive on a lush Pluto warmed by the larger Sun. Red ice is clearly strawberry flavoured ice. Or maybe Plutonian raspberries or cherries.

happy_renting
Apparently this blue Plutonian sky would still look black if you were on Pluto's surface looking up. As I have said before, the Universe is crap. We should stay on Earth.

DeepLurker
I wish NASA would STFU with the weekly press releases of "THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING DISCOVERY EVAR!!" and just let the images speak for themselves... they are breathtaking enough without the commentary. Austin Allegro
Well the universe is sh*t. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Armstrong: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for m - uh-oh." Houston: "Tranquiillity Base, please copy." Armstrong: "I think I just trod in something." I heard the slight pause in transmission was because Armstrong realised he'd fluffed one of the most important quotes in history, by saying 'one small step for man' instead of 'one small step for A man'.
