Tiny rooms, don't be fooled by the measurements in millimetres, beside a stagnant waterway

DarkHorseWaits-NoMore
Looks like something you once might have found in a warmer climate and paid 100 pesetas for 14 nights. Or is it just a granny flat caked in Barbie accessories .
Argoed
it's unutterably tasteless and horrible - is that how Welsh people aspire to live? Nah.... most of us yearn for a return to the basic and simple things in life. You know, two up two down, wifey washing the coal dust from my back as I sit in my zinc tub in front of the open fire , listening to the choral refrain of my co-workers as they joyously wind their way home after another 14 hour shift down the mine. long time lurking
Slums of the future ,just like parts of Cardiff bay which are well on there way now, with a fair amount now H/A owned ( the places that were up to standard) and a fair bit of the rest BTL being payed for by housing benefit

trippytinker
Funnily enough i was just looking at these flats yesterday and wondering who the f**k would want to live there. Now I know, someone with no taste or sense. I don't think you can even walk into town easily.

The Masked Tulip
I only posted it because of the big tin foil woman in the room, but most of your comments seem justified. To be fair, it is part of a regeneration project alongside the River Tawe which, during the Industrial Revolution, became one of the most industrialised and most polluted places on the planet. It was said that the bones of cows grazing on the nearby Kilvey Hill literally rotted through and, for over a 100 years, more or less nothing has grown on large parts of that hill. In fact, there is a 19th Century poem that goes "It came to pass in days of yore, the Devil perchanced upon Landore (the area where those flats are built, but now given some new silly name). Quoth he, 'By all this fume and stink, I can't be far from home I think.'" The area played a major part in the rise of the Royal Navy, the rise of the Empire and the defeat at Traflagar of the French - i.e. the area is now a wreck due to the Copper Works in the area in the Industrial Revolution. Nelson's ships were copper hull plated with copper from this area making them faster and quicker to turn than French or Spanish ships. Anyhow, it is an attempt to make the area look nice but, sadly, I can see the place looking a dump in 10 years time. On one side is the Kilvey Hill, still scarred in copper tones, and on the other side behind the flats is a big shopping mall with your Morrisons, Next, PCWorld, B&Q, Matalan, etc, etc, etc. If you look closely at the Liberty Stadium in one photo I think you can see Brendan Rogers asking for his job back
