In a couple of weeks they will have a little "event" there, a lecture by a special guest, "The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown". His lecture's tittle: "After the Crash: Building a Future of Jobs and Justice." Edit, to add clarity: Just "the" crash?! Not his fecking crash???!!! :angry: And after destroying the lives of a generation, and wasting a decade pushing the country into debt, dismantling the productive private sector and inflating the public / welfare sector, and leaving a £trillion debt around the country's neck, now he comes back preaching about "Jobs and Justice" ? ! ? ! ? ! Its just a pity he ever decided to enter politics. I also blame Blair for suffering with him as his number 2 well past the time when he should have recognised he was ruining the country. And the annoying part ios that both of these men are cashing in on their failures. Our world has ever been so screwed up to the point that bad is good and good is bad. Banksters, PC, overpaid council workers (the Suffolk bint on £200k +), MPs at the trough and 98% getting away with it, houses still grossly unaffordable, BTL scourge... ____ me! I was on the committee of a local outdoors club earlier in the decade, and when the transition occurred nationally between private sector wealth and public sector wealth in the early 2000s, this was reflected in the make up of the committee, suddenly becoming more dominated by public sector management do-gooders of major significance was that the club's online message board became heavily moderated, requiring approved logons etc, whereas previously it had been free to anyone and worked with little moderation required (why would it be needed anyway?), it suddenly became politically correct; exchanging email addresses became banned, people being encouraged to use private board messaging which was overseen by (public sector management members of) the committee, became really repressive in a totally pointless way, except it cemented the committees' power over the membership, it was shocking really and opened my eyes in a big way Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's usually in posts saying, "Anyone who's for public sector cuts is for the bank bailout." I've also been shouted down on a housing-law forum for using the term NuLab - my argument quite ignored by intelligent lawyers who think the the rule of law is a technicality to be overcome on the road to state supremacy. Socialists don't have faith in people, therefore they recommend the removal of people's freedom to choose. That means monopolising the currency, interfering in the family, reducing commercial competition. From that angle, I don't see many conservatives in government or state.
