I've just received an email from a friend at Oxford University. In a couple of weeks they will have a little "event" there, a lecture by a special guest, "The Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown".

His lecture's tittle: "After the Crash: Building a Future of Jobs and Justice."

:o

Edit, to add clarity:

Just "the" crash?! Not his fecking crash???!!!

And after destroying the lives of a generation, and wasting a decade pushing the country into debt, dismantling the productive private sector and inflating the public / welfare sector, and leaving a £trillion debt around the country's neck, now he comes back preaching about "Jobs and Justice" ? ! ? ! ? !

The bleeding lunatic deranged imbecile b@stard !

I find it virtually impossible to comprehend/believe that that deranged imbecile can't see that he was the main culprit for this fecking UK bubble!

And that he shares with Greenspan the top guilt for the global crisis!

Edit: And he still thinks he has that fecking "moral compass"???!!!

The lunatic idiotic b@stard!!!

Brown's main failing was his ignorance of money issues and pride in not recognising it. Its just a pity he ever decided to enter politics. I also blame Blair for suffering with him as his number 2 well past the time when he should have recognised he was ruining the country.

And the annoying part ios that both of these men are cashing in on their failures. Our world has ever been so screwed up to the point that bad is good and good is bad. Banksters, PC, overpaid council workers (the Suffolk bint on £200k +), MPs at the trough and 98% getting away with it, houses still grossly unaffordable, BTL scourge... ____ me! Time to emigrate--but where?

I have noticed this a lot with some socialists - they think that what separates them from, say, cnservatives is that conservatives apparently have no morality and are simply selfish and greedy; this is a rude and patronising view to assume that a conservative is automatically a bad person, and that socialist views arer intrinsically paradigmatically good

also, a bit of delusion is ample justification for troughing from others, and very narcissistic

an example I knew was a senior management (blonde) council officer in Leeds on £50-60k salary who could not accept her clear fault in a traffic accident (it happens and we all make mistakes), lost the case against knocking a motorcyclist down, no huge deal you might thinhk,. the motorcyclist survivied, it was low speed, needed a new set of leathers, she had been at work all day, pulled out, an accident happened

but the deluded socialist had enormous difficulty accepting her own fallibility, an actual emotional crisis about her own lack of self-perfection

jeezus

Socialism/Communism to me means religious persecution, politcal repression, famine, mass murder, no freedom of speech, forced labour, gulags etc etc.

Capitalism means economic inequality.

I know which id choose.

I was on the committee of a local outdoors club earlier in the decade, and when the transition occurred nationally between private sector wealth and public sector wealth in the early 2000s, this was reflected in the make up of the committee, suddenly becoming more dominated by public sector management do-gooders

of major significance was that the club's online message board became heavily moderated, requiring approved logons etc, whereas previously it had been free to anyone and worked with little moderation required (why would it be needed anyway?), it suddenly became politically correct; exchanging email addresses became banned, people being encouraged to use private board messaging which was overseen by (public sector management members of) the committee, became really repressive in a totally pointless way, except it cemented the committees' power over the membership, it was shocking really and opened my eyes in a big way

Surely the title is wrong, shouldn't it be like: "After my crash, I'm building myself a future job because I just don't care about you"

"After the Crash: Building a Future of jobs for Gordon and banker backhanders."

He's got some way to go before he catches up with Tony of Arabia though.

Gordon Brown earns over 250K pound in just 3-months

New figures from the MPs' Register of Interests showed that Brown is making a small fortune from lectures, a university post in New York and the publishing deal for his memoirs of the economic crisis.

One speech in Lagos, Nigeria , last autumn earned him 62,181 pounds even though he claimed it only involved four hours' work, and he also earned 37,047 pounds for a 50-minute speech in Delhi, India , in November, which he claimed involved two-and-a-half hours' work.

I see it often on this forum, people insisting that conservatives are only out for themselves. It's usually in posts saying, "Anyone who's for public sector cuts is for the bank bailout."

I've also been shouted down on a housing-law forum for using the term NuLab - my argument quite ignored by intelligent lawyers who think the the rule of law is a technicality to be overcome on the road to state supremacy.

Socialists don't have faith in people, therefore they recommend the removal of people's freedom to choose. That means monopolising the currency, interfering in the family, reducing commercial competition. From that angle, I don't see many conservatives in government or state.
