Short term Corbyn's destruction of the economy might lower house prices, but long term the millions he imports will only serve to increase demand.

The Tories don't have a majority, May can do f'all against the VIs.

Yup, she lost the plot and threw away her majority, at least that's something to be grateful for.

Margaret Thatcher was a proper Conservative, the current shower are NuLabour lite!

I have to agree a proper hard money free market conservative would not allow cheap money to inflate and then would not step in to keep that going.

I am speaking as someone with a family that liked the thatcher years as they went from close to poverty to a reasonable self employed life.

I get upset when young people I know complain about the free market in regards to housing its not its corporate socialism.

My take is that its all about to go to shit and May is going to sub her mates building houses to see them through the collapse and claim credit for it.

if thats the way it works out fair enough I would rather that than more taxes

The shelving of the grammar schools plan was a massive loss for my children and our area. But if having a weakened government means she has to respect the likes of Rees Mogg and get the Brexit done properly before falling on her sword then it's a worthwhile sacrifice.

A Sky reporter just suggested that she will cut stamp duty and extend Help to Buy .

Yes, we know what the Tories will do...

They will simply throw more debt on the bonfire to keep the fires of the housing bubble burning.

They know adding more money only inflates house prices. They are doing it deliberately.

She knows more rate rises and a crash are on the way, so how to claim credit for it - build a extra 50,000 houses and claim that's what made the difference,

In reality it will be a drop in the ocean but a lot of idiots will fall for it.

they don`t need to build more they need to force landlords to sell up including ones holding property in ltd companies . but will they NO CHANCE.

Yep it's crony capitalism. It annoys me too when people moan about capitalism as if it's an awful thing. Somewhere along the line land as an input of production got subsumed into the capital component. What a lot of people see as capitalism and get annoyed about is actually rentierism.

Yes. BTL mortgages need to be completely wiped out and those already ongoing taxed out of existence.

Tens of millions of new for rent only council houses are what we need.

Being in debt to a bank is so 2006.  The banks can whistle dixy, as they are already insolvent anyway.

You can’t fix anything unless you close the boarders.. the migrant crisis will continue to accelerate until the next French election when LePen gets in.. that would stop the intolerable EU in their tracks, although Austria already has a Nazi coalition.. Italy in 2018 so see what happens there..  but our boarders are our own and they must close.. population increase makes the country worse..

Real Conservatives believe in free markets with minimal intervention, ie small government.

All they do is steel and lie, 2nd jobs in the sectors over which they reside, BTL properties, voting against making homes fit for human habitation.. funded by house builders, giving billions of tax payers debt! To house builders and banker chums, David Cameron’s best mate is a land banker.. it’s just greed and corruption.. has anyone got guyfalks number on speed dial? I’ve got a large gunpowder display I would like him to ignite for me..

Tens of millions?

No thanks. Complete nanny state.

Not everyone wants to buy a house and be in debt to a bank for 30 years, paying interest every month to fund lifestyles of the corrupt.

In fact, no one with half a brain does.  The banking system is over anyway, as they are all insolvent.

And a lot of people don't want to be answerable to a landlord.

We need a functional property market that works for the majority as well as social housing.

We certainly don't want a repeat of the tax credit fiasco, making a couple million state dependent for no good reason and paying them to remain under-employed.
