bomberbrown
Quote  Some things are ‘nice to have’: TV subscriptions, restaurant meals, new clothes. Other things are ‘need to have’: food, water, heating. And access to reliable, trustworthy information. Not one mention of the what must be the biggest expense everyone faces every month. Mortgage/rent. Oh no, high house prices = good đŸ¤¨
nothernsoul
Both Nick Train and Terry Smith, two of the UK's most successful fund managers, both studied history at university. Maybe their were some skills there that they could transfer to their later careers.

I would be surprised if all unis that offer x have the same salaries. (The data should come from student loan repayments none of this self reported stuff). Rewards to architecture (and law, I think) are like those for athletes, acting, fine artists, musicians, and drug dealers. A few people make an absolute mint, but most scarcely get by. In contrast to education/medicine/accounting/IT where there are fewer (but more than zero) at the top end but at the lower end, you are less likely to end up skint.

People are progressing 16->18, 18->22, without really getting the grades at 16.
