  1. You'd think in this day and age with over-bearing bureaucracy and red-tape in every aspect of our lives, the government might have this sewn up with a simple legislation that anyone with more than one residence (rented, owned or otherwise) would simply have to declare which one is their main residence either annually, or whenever it changes rather than leaving it to Miss Marplesque deductions.
  2. Indeed! This was that table from only earlier this morning. It was still cached on my iPad browser.
  3. Barber anecdote. When I first moved to London (Hackney) in 1998 and on the dole for the first 4 months, I found a barbers on the Balls Pond Road who did hair cuts for £2!! I kid you not! He was OK so long as you weren't fussy. I recommended him to a friend of mine at the time. He cut his fringe so far back it looked like he had an Alice band on! He never forgave me. 🤣
  4. A QUARTER of a MILLION £ for 17 square metres of a skank flat in north London. JTFC! This makes the Knightsbridge ‘broom cupboard’ flat from the 90’s for around £38k at the time an absolute steal!
  5. Most of the comments in that FT article are good. People are finally waking up.
  6. Aside from the price, and drops, the photoshopped outside of the windows are so obvious. Just, why?
  7. I went for June also as we’re almost guaranteed to follow the Fed.
  8. When I first moved to London in 1998, my water charges were £2 a week (I remember vividly as I was on the dole initially before I got my job and I paid it weekly). I’m now paying £500 a year. 1,000% increase. Meanwhile, over the last 30 years, Thameswater have paid £7.2Bn in dividends to their shareholders.
  9. Someone HAS taken it. It’s down as ‘Let Agreed’ 🤦‍♂️
  10. Open air bedroom on the landing, anyone? Yours for the princely sum of £1,000 a month. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/144683564
  11. Ha ha. I’ve passed that corner every other week during Rugby season on my way to watch Sarries play for about the last 6 or 7 years. It’s an odd one that’s for sure. I was thinking either the money’s run out or there’s planning permission issues?
  12. Sounds like he should be a (bad) landlord. 😉
  13. “It’s difficult to do that if you’re not confident property prices are back on the up” What a bell end!
  14. I must say it’s refreshing to see comments from another forum also completely against the 99% idea. https://www.reddit.com/r/HousingUK/s/bRg0y9dToD
  15. It also increases the temperature too. Boiling water is only 100 degrees. Boiling sugar is much hotter.
  16. I take this view point: “Miners are to Margaret Thatcher as I am to Gordon Brown” I could never comprehend the vitriol the miners had to Maggie until we had 13 years of Gordon Brown. Now I get it!
