One of Britain’s highest paid and most controversial council chief executives has gone on extended leave ‘for personal reasons’.

Suffolk County Council boss Andrea Hill, 47, attracted criticism when she was hired in 2008 on a salary of £218,000.

Since then she has caused outrage by splashing taxpayers’ money on glamorous photos of herself, bizarre team-building lessons and personal coaching sessions with a ‘leadership guru’ – while slashing services.

The council has been rocked in recent months by the apparent suicide of a senior officer and the departure of two others.

The position of Mrs Hill, a mother of three, began looking precarious after her main supporter, Tory council leader Jeremy Pembroke, decided to quit last month. His replacement, Mark Bee, is due to take over officially later this month but has started reversing some of the most unpopular aspects of her New Strategic Direction, under which all lollipop men and women were to have been sacked and 29 libraries were due to close.

Mrs Hill has been on holiday since Mr Bee was elected by fellow councillors on April 18. She was due back this week but failed to return to her desk.

Acting council leader Jane Storey said: ‘Andrea is on extended leave as agreed by myself as acting leader.’

Did you guess?

Will this be full paid leave?

I didn't realise being a complete psycho with self esteem issues would get you a management position *reviews strategy*

Going for the early retirement on health grounds are we? It has to be the duty of every local tax payer to ensure she doesn't get away with this.

Common Purpose influence is seen in force throughout the BBC, Local Councils, Police, Schools, National Health Service, and many government agencies that run towns in the UK. Leading toward ever closer union, it is a subversive way to set up new leaders of the coming Totalitarian Socialist State (The European Union). It is a unelected quasi secret society, posing as a charity, with members in powerful positions throughout the UK and abroad.

PSYCHO SPENDING

Well done to TPA supporter Roger Baker! He's scored a double hit on over-spending Suffolk county council. When we went all out to highlight and expose the £220,000 salary Andrea Hill picked up as the new chief executive of the council, the lackeys retorted that it was essential to get a quality chief executive.

In two letters Roger has destroyed that weak excuse, which you can read at the bottom of this post. For you see, Ms Hill is so careful with taxpayers' money that she's shelling out £400,000 of your money to send 1,000 council staff on a "leadership communication programme" complete with psychological testing.

I think that's a given, don't you?

Everything about her stinks of it.

Likely. The taxpayer constantly picks up the bill for 'boomerang' bosses who lose the support of a complaint council leader. Look for a gigantic severance package on the basis of 'irreconcilable differences' between the council and the new broom, followed by a reappointment elsewhere shortly thereafter. However, who would hire her?

The fact her troughing has been allowed to continue for so long is little short of disgusting.

I see a lot of comedic potential in her.

Someone should write the definitive sit-com about life at the sharp end of wasteful public spending. It would have to be done without an explicit political axe to grind - just display the lives of these people in all their 'glory'.

A fly in the ointment.

Sounds like Mr Bee is a bit of competition. I have seen this on a few occasions where a useless manager, so full of their own importance, suddenly gets challenged and just crumbles at the very first test. Sorry but they have all been woman in their late 40's and emotionally weak.

Leave her alone. Just because she is paid an enormous salary to do a job she is struggling to cope with is no reason to constantly have a pop at her.

In these times of austerity it is important to have expensive leaders in place who can make the tough decisions about which roles to outsource and which to make redundant.

When she manages to bring costs down, I and all the other people of Suffolk will gladly fork out a few more hundred thou as a reward for reducing my council tax bill. It is exactly these kind of money grabbing people that we need to grab the money back from the frontline staff and to run our council services into the ground.

She must have been underpaid and the strain got to her.....

If they stopped advertising for people to do these jobs in some swathe of gobbledeegook language and just asked for sensible people who have probably run some business, then the standard of applicants would rise substantially. The salary does not need to be £218k pa. I and many others could do that job starting tomorrow for half..

I think this is the same person that launched a website asking the public how they should cut costs..

The website had to be constantly updated to remove comments from the public saying "you're overpaid, cut your salary"

The top masons are Satanists!

The top sect amongst their cult is the 'St Andrews' sect

Therefore they flag the woman up & get the population to direct their negative vibes towards 'Andr(rea)ews Hill' which enhances their evil/majik practices.

The same is done with G-ordo and Blair amongst others.

Their double-headed eagle emblem supposedly, secretly represents a Phoenix (which fits in with their Masonic "Order from Chaos" motto)

The World has been deliberately forced into 'chaos' so the top masons (Satanically blinded) can take over!

Thats why our 'PC-World' = absolute lunacy

Have a read thru this >>>

You have to work out the half truths but it's an interesting read

She will for sure. Last local Authority I worked for the CEO was rewarded with £200,000 plus his pension (Approx £50K a year) for his utter failure in leadership, not least overseeing the loss of over £10 Million to the Icelandic banks collapse.

Of course those at the bottom of the chain just got statutory payments for their sham redundancy's to pay for all this.

Which LA was this out of curiosity ?

She also gets a dis-honorable mention on one of my favourite blogs http://wwwbrokenbarnet.blogspot.com - It also looks like the suffolk model is being followed in Barnet as well.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1385346/Suffolk-town-hall-chief-Andrea-Hill-told-stay-home-amid-suicide-inquiry.html

A town hall boss was put on extended leave after claims about staff welfare in the wake of the suspected suicide of a senior colleague.

Suffolk County Council announced last week that chief executive Andrea Hill was taking time away from her job ‘for personal reasons’.

But it has emerged she has been told to remain at home on full pay while an inquiry looks into the death of David White, the acting head of the Tory-run authority’s legal department.

Independent investigators were called in by councillors to examine concerns about the treatment of employees in the department following allegations by a whistleblower.

She sounds a delight.

It is believed the probe will look into complaints about 47-year-old Mrs Hill’s alleged domineering management style and claims that some staff felt bullied.

Obviously the real story here is that Andrea Hill is a hero, fighting to sort out the complacent, over-paid council and she should be rewarded with a bigger bonus.
