Disputes over the ownership of objects are very common. A subject like Gibralter would have deserved more discussion but saying who is entitled to what takes things into a tangled nest of history. What normal countries don't do is embark on wholesale slaughter and threats of nuclear strikes to get their way.

A nuclear exchange has been averted so far. Interesting point that Putins successor has a golden opportunity to consolidate power by blaming Putin for the war, sanctions and the threat of nuclear escalation. Also interesting that China was initially seen as the main threat, while now the Chinese are merrily cannibalising the Russian economy while they've got Putin on a leash. But would 'deputinising' Russia be a temporary reprieve ? Are there structural reasons for Russian expansionism ?

DarkHorseWaits-NoMore
OMG, we've been watching this unfold since the mid 2000s then watched the run up to the conflict and then sat through a further 2 years on this thread, yet broadly some still can't figure out WTF is going on and why. 🤦♀️ No 1 - Establishing a European Security Framework, by force after diplomacy was blocked... There's a separate thread to discuss the crimes of Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabal of thugs , you know the country the UK is currently sending arms and "military advisors" to , the country that is currently plausibly committing genocide according to the ICJ . PS only one country has ever embarked on using nukes , they did so twice on two different civilian cities.

But whilst there is loot to be made for the "Lords Of War" they will find a way to support more being slaughtered. So bugger what the Pope says about negotiating a peace..._ The Czechs want more. You are having a bad one today, must be a rigged election you want to deflect from...

He goes as far as saying that Ukraine have admitted they've lost. The reality is different. In the absence of new weapons supplies, Ukraine has dug in and Russia is taking disproportionately high losses in their attempt to advance. When it comes to attack, Ukraine has shifted focus and is now targeting Russia's most precious asset, it's oil industry. Putin has pursued a series conflicts to expand Russia's sphere of control. and is now threatening nuclear war if others obstuct his aims. Some are willing to submit to Russia. Many are not. Allowing nuclear weapons to be used as a shield for illegal invastions looks about as dangerous as things can get. This particular issue is not only about about Russia. DarkHorseWaits-NoMore
Is this the sweet taste of democracy, from our unelected PM again? Former head of British foreign intelligence service MI6 said that the UK is engaged in a 'Grey War' with Russia (express.co.uk) but the British are not aware of it.
