Unstable USA

I have long thought the US was a lot more stable and had a lot better future than European countries.

I still generally believe that, but this footage of SJWs pulling down a civil war statue in Durham, North Carolina has really got me thinking about the stability of the US.

It reminds me a bit of the 2nd Iraq war statue demolition, but in this footage some of the people look completely deranged!  I urge you to watch the footage!

The United States is as it has always been: a veneer of intelligence and land of the free (free to use firearms, mostly) hype,  Underneath the veneer are the seething, unemployed, uneducated masses at the point of rioting. Anything but stable.

More like the toppling of Soviet leaders, although to be frank the statue being defaced and smashed was was a Confederate and so was a implicit enemy of the United States of America (therefore more akin to Stalin statues being removed following his death or the images of disgraced Roman emperors who alienated too many senators or generals). But if we in the West start taking down statues of dead public figure because of their grisly, outdated mindsets and shady deeds, we'd run out of statues...

Society is getting very polarised, you either support antifa or they call you a Nazi.

worrying times.

Yeah, know what you mean. It's much the same genderwise: if you refuse to condemn rape, folks start thinking you're a misogynist!

I've had a hard left outrage brigade type lectures me about at boring length about Comfort Women as if it was my fault, for daring to suggest Japanese and Koreans had a cultural affinity like Germans and French, despite a very difficult shared history. In their own way the Hard Left are as race obsessed as the Nazis!

No, it's not the same at all. "Anitfa" is a bunch of armed left wing militant thugs battling it out with an equally obnoxious bunch of armed right wing militant thugs, both are arguably as bad as each other. Whereas rape is an indefensible, violent, sexual assault against a defenceless woman.

Good to see Trump coming out tonight, talking sense, and blaming all the violent people - including the left and antifa (the actual fascists). He also effectively said they should stop taking down the statues. Quite rightly.

Getting slaughtered for it of course, as he has deviated from the left wing, fascist, goolag/facefarce/SJW line of thought and must therefore be destroyed!

I too have had these same lectures on various issues over the years (although not comfort women though yet) and its struck me these types are very drawn into other peoples misery and misfortune and immerse themselves in it, which they confuse with being concerned.  Plus if anyone who has any comment or thoughts on the subject which doesn't exactly align with theirs (which includes finding any evidence to the contrary) is branded as 'right wing'. Its absurd.

Hence while I am saddened to see America erupting like this I am not entirely surprised.

And we had that young lady getting senselessly mowed down in the same week, which was also very sad, even if I'm not impressed by the statue toppling - the Civil War hasn't really ended and may yet tear down the Union (if you've got IngSoc Left and Neo-Nazi Right applying physical force more).

She was free to associate with the crowd that were damaging the car of the possibly scared driver

Just as he was free to remove himself from a threatening situationby any means necessary.

As soon as that car becomes immobile or gets turned over (Easy for a crowd to do), he is in serious trouble.

Dress it up as much as you like. The last few weeks have been extremely bad for those who persist in identity/partisan politics of both left or right.

We're/you're all being played. Keep lapping it up if you want to keep parroting SJW bashing or twisting circumstances to exaggerate Trump's views (which many left wing papers do). It diverts our attentions away from the real issues and evils at play. That and a Kardashian ar$e of course.

yes, the left if being roused in to action by the MSM, the aim is to bring down Trump, but risks widespread civil unrest.

I recently read a biography of Stalin, which necessarily included a lot on the tactics and activities of the early communists. Antifa and the SJWs seem very similar to them, especially with their fanatical 'if you're not with us you're against us' approach, and attempts to destabilise societies and force the plebs to conform to their wishes.

Although in defence of the communists of 100 years ago, at least they didn't have the lessons of the disastrous history of hard left societies to inform them.

National Socialist, Soviet Socialist, a pox on all their collectivist asses...

Not so ATW. Chronyx says:

Newton's 3rd tells us for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

So even by the laws of physics, we can see that those anti-fascists bouncing off the fender must themselves have done some damage to the car.

With a water-tight argument like this it wouldn't surprise me if chron hasn't set himself up overnight as a claims advisory company. "Where there's blame," an' all!

Ah the old, "First they came for the socialists ..." mentality.

Did you know that some Jews in 1930s Germany were so fatigued by the plight of other groups that they got on HousePriceCrash Off-Topic forum and became apologists for murderers? Honest to god truth, I tell yah!

gif's not animating.

Basically it's a road. I think. With a pavement. I think.

Not sure your embryonic claims advisory business is any closer to an S&P 500 listing, but I admire your tenacity.

Especially for a man with "fatigue" who couldn't give a "****".
