Daft Boy
Well folks the turkey is almost thawed and cooked and the family are all here for xmas diner. This afternoon we will all settle down around the tv to watch the speech live at 2.15. Our great leader Gordon the Great will be the highlight of today. In years to come people will ask " where was you when Gordon rallied the country ?" I have it on good authority that Sarah will this year will be on stage as a pole dancer to excite the party faithfull. I just know that delegates in the half empty hall will rise to their feet and give Gordon a standing ovation. I know I speak for the rest of the family when I say that there will not be a dry eye in the house.

Trampa501
We've got another EIGHT months of electioneering. I used to think our electoral system was far better than the States ie a month of the stuff at election time as opposed to the 10 months US version. I'm not so sure now. If only we had a Head of State who could force the elections to take place soon.

ma-ku
I doubt very much he is going to announce his resignation and since those are the only words I could bear to hear that awful man utter, I will be giving his rambling speech of nothingness a wide berth. Guest P-Diddly
I bet they'll clap him for 8 hours when he's done. ... even if they all hate him. Remember that Mark Thomas show where the production team got hold of all the Labour MP's pager numbers, paged them to "applause and shout ,more . . more!" during a Jack Straw speech at one of these party conferences? Worked too. Hilarious.
Mr Prudence
I'm predicting in order of repetition. "global crisis" "started in America" "hard working famillies" "protecting Britain's recovery" "the right thing to do"

Remember those black and white shots of Sadam Hussein ordering people to leave the conference hall to their execution outside? 1960s/early '70s.... Daft Boy
For those about to watch this I'd advise an early lunch or perhaps putting it off until afterwards. Looks like the labour delegates have taken your advice. The conference hall was two thirds empty for the speech just given by the Home Secretary. I suppose a liquid lunch is essential prior to listening to Gordon.
