Only money and time.......the things most have little of, time we are forever losing daily.........I wonder if calculated how much it cost each time jummped in the pool over the lifetime?.......expensive dips without variation without even an alternate view....hope it was worth it.;)

Just as well his business is going great guns

But in 2006, he decided to pursue his passion for fishing by launching Where Wise Men Fish, which offers fly fishing holidays across the globe.

The business is described online as an opportunity for Justin to 'to exercise the extensive skills built up planning and running military operations and exercises in the army, to the equally complex and demanding world of adventure travel, to far flung and remote destinations.'

Prices online for the holidays range from £3,975 for a three day fishing expedition to Iceland to £4,877 for a week-long trip to Russia in September.

Posh, thick  squaddy suddenly discovers previously hidden business acumen ....

Ill rearrange important life events. chronologically

Her son Justin served for 8 years as an infantry officer in the Scots Guards of the UK armed forces, two years of which was on active service in Iraq and Northern Ireland.

But in 2006, he decided to pursue his passion for fishing by launching Where Wise Men Fish, which offers fly fishing holidays across the globe.

....

The business is described online as an opportunity for Justin to 'to exercise the extensive skills built up planning and running military operations and exercises in the army, to the equally complex and demanding world of adventure travel, to far flung and remote destinations.'

...

Justin Maxwell-Stuart, 50, from London, who appeared on the hit Channel 4 series yesterday, snapped up the abandoned keepers lodge and adjoining ex-council toilet block in Fulham cemetery for £1.8million in 2016, and said he wanted to turn it into a luxurious mansion in just 12 months with a budget of £1.6 million.

....

Yet after starting the project in October 2016, he was hampered with difficulties, including obtaining planning permission to build an entrance to the graveyard from his garden, and ended up spending £4.5 million and four years making his dream come true.

...

There you go. Just shows anyone can make it, with a bit of application.

Oh, missed this bit out:

Justin's mother was shipping heiress Kirsty Maxwell-Stewart, who was born into the Salvesen family and passed away in 2016, leaving a £20 million fortune in her will.

He explained the project was budgeted at £1.6 million, but confessed he had only managed to find £1.2 million to start the project.

Justin said 60 per cent of the funds 'came from his savings' while he was also 'given a loan by his mother', before obtaining a mortgage against the lodge and his other houses, adding: 'In my mind there is a fear I'm heading down a catastrophic black hole.'

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
Into the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.

II
“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
   Someone had blundered.
   Theirs not to make reply,
   Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
   Into the valley of Death
   Rode the six hundred.

III
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
   Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of hell
   Rode the six hundred.

IV
Flashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
   All the world wondered.
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre stroke
   Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not
   Not the six hundred.

V
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
   Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell.
They that had fought so well
Came through the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of hell,
All that was left of them,
   Left of six hundred.

VI
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
   All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
   Noble six hundred!

Hmm @spyguywas he the sole beneficiary of the estate? If not he has pretty much burned through his inheritance. CRAZY.

I think he's done ok - this one is half the size. Genius having it in a graveyard, unlikely to ever be developed and the only neighbours are dead quiet :)

A mansion built from an old coach house near where I used to live is on the market for £4.5 million. It is lovely but in a very vulnerable position at the end of a lane, effectively in a public park with no other houses near by. Must be on a few villain's hit list I'd have thought. I think it sold after the development about 15 years ago for £3.5 million. I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it goes all the way back to its 2008 price.
