winkie
What have you learned from watching short video clips such as youtube? I learned to put a new recharging port into a tablet and change the battery....runs like new. Made some old flared trousers in to wearable straight legged trousers..... Niall of the Nine Hostages
I built some airfix models to a far higher standard than I ever managed as a kid - thanks to the wonder of youtube.

One-percent
Changed pda battery years ago, blow transistor in a fire. These are the first two that spring to mind. Now, instead of getting someone to repair things, my first port of call is utube to see if it can be done by a noddy with two left thumbs. Suprising how much can be saved in diy-ing it

Cosmic Apple
Completely rebuilt a car - complete engine, drive train and electronic system from one car in to another along with modifications, maintenance and upgrades along the way. Blew it up after 100miles and replaced a piston, piston rings and a head gasket. Left the valves and the welding on the head to someone else though. Previously my mechanical experience was limited to caliper changes and routine servicing. Car hasn't left me on the roadside yet and has completed several track days

justthisbloke
Fixed a lawnmower. That's quite an achievement for a one time software engineer.
Frank Hovis
Fairly, alright very, minor but changed the battery in my key fob. It wasn't obvious how to get into it without breaking it but a quick watch of YouTube showed me how.

Riedquat
I'm not sure if I'd go as far as "never though I could do" but knocking a few pieces of wood together to build a model railway baseboard was quite an achievement, as was building a few (admittedly unfinished) models out of brass. Considering there was no woodwork or metalwork at school and I'm probably the first practical-less generation I was pleased with that.

GloomMonger
YouTube showed me how to change the stick coils on my motorbike. Can now do it in 20 minutes. Only attempted it out of anger as the local motorcycle garage is run by the rudest man on earth. Probably saved 300 squids.
Niall of the Nine Hostages
Oooh nearly forgot. I changed the keyboard on a blackberry phone and also fixed another tiny and fiddly thing on a blackberry phone - but I can't remember what it was. Also, I hung something heavy on a partition wall, and its still there and it hasn't destroyed the wall.
