What is with this comical non-sequiturs? Where on Earth did I say anything in support of Putin? Merkel is tainted by the fact she is an avowed Marxist from the GDR. In fact, scientists were slavish bureaucrats in the USSR, so in a way it does make her more suspicious. The narrative presented by hysterical Western leaders does not hang together. Do you have any theories about why the West German conservative Christian Democrat Party allowed an "avowed Marxist" to join them, get a ministerial job, become leader and then Chancellor of Germany for 15 years? Staffsknot
Btw Novichok is not one agent but a family of similar agents. Some are more potent than others. It is like the folks who shouted about Russian 'buk' missile systems not being able to hit the the Malaysian Airlines flight and it was a setup - not realising 'Buk' is a family of missiles that have evolved and have different capabilities. Errol
We really don't want a war. ‘Nobody would survive’: Putin to Oliver Stone on ‘hot war’ between Russia & US No country on earth would survive should the world’s most powerful nuclear states unleash their atomic weapons, Vladimir Putin has said. His remarks form part of a series of interviews with American film director Oliver Stone. “In a hot war is the US dominant?” the American director asked the Russian president. “I don’t think anyone would survive such a conflict,” Putin replied https://www.rt.com/news/391171-oliver-stone-putin-hot-war/ Edited September 7, 2020 by Errol

The stimulus cheques were a huge mistake. And yes, that was a left wing manoeuvre which he probably did just to get re-elected. Doing things is not the Marxist part. Riedquat
11 minutes ago, zugzwang said: So Trump is a Marxist, too? Thanks for clearing that up. Locke, and it seems cnick too, are from the one extreme or the other black and white school of thinking where everything not at their extreme is all pretty much the other. There are two pigeonholes to put things in and the requirement for selecting which is "100% agrees with me" or "everything else." Everything in "everything else" is assumed to be the same, so if Marxism goes in it then anything else in there must also be Marxist. For another example see "logically if she weighs the same as a duck she's made of wood and therefore a witch".
