Steppenpig
Look at the wiki talk page, it's obviously been going on for many years, so would be an unusually well prepared set up, if it was. Although, one might ask why the story broke at his time...but in fact it seems to have been in the press several times in past years as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Grant_Shapps previous media attention refereced in wiki http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/sep/08/grants-shapps-altered-wikipedia-entry http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9531903/Grant-Shapps-edited-Wikipedia-page-to-remove-school-records.html http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/sep/11/grant-shapps-wikipedia-edited-gaffe http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/conservative/10320474/Grant-Shapps-failed-science-O-level.html edit: I guess it is "murky" in the sense that the guy shouldn't have broken the story to the guardian, but he is clearly being fairly frank, and there is no suggestion, even from the Telegraph, that it wasn't Shapps wot done it. R K
Turns out things are a bit murkier than they first appear: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/11555267/Wikipedia-administrator-who-accused-Grant-Shapps-of-editing-pages-of-Tory-rivals-is-Liberal-Democrat-activist.html The Wikipedia administrator who accused the Tory co-chairman, Grant Shapps, of creating a fake identity on the online encyclopedia to boost his reputation is a leading activist in the Liberal Democrats, the Telegraph can reveal. Richard Symonds admitted today that he had been “chastised” by other administrators at Wikipedia for not checking with more people before banning a user who he claims is Mr Shapps, or someone working for him. Mr Symonds also admitted that he had briefed The Guardian newspaper, which broke the alleged story yesterday. torygraph dissembling. Don't look at Shapps look at this instead. Since this is a senior member of the British govt I don't know why it isn't in the national interest for Wiki to publish what they know about the a/c "contribsx" and where the owner is located. Can't GCHQ do it? We pay them oodles to monitor all this internet stuff and they could do something worthwhile for a change.

MattW
Something about that man that doesn't ring true, I can't put my finger on it, something not quite right.... I get the same feeling about Schnapps too. He doesn't come across as particularly intelligent, either. When he was Housing Minister and pressed on the subject of addressing housing problems he would always trot out the same lines about 'shared ownership' . He's a waste of space imo. Hope he loses his seat in the Election or otherwise fades away to the backbenches.
Dorkins
Which constituency does he hold? Who voted for him??? Welwyn Hatfield, where he has a big 5 figure majority. No doubt the lobotomised Tory core vote will be turning out in their droves in a couple of weeks to re-elect a known serial liar as their Parliamentary representative.
