Northerner
Senior: Val Doonican Middle: Richard Branson Young: Jedward To my astonishment, Val Doonican is indeed still alive. Good call! Poor Val - not alive anymore ... Val Doonican, Irish singer, dies at 88His family said he died "peacefully" at a nursing home in Buckinghamshire. He had not been ill, but his daughter said his "batteries had just run out". The performer was a regular fixture on TV with The Val Doonican show which ran on the BBC from 1965 to 1986, featuring his own performances and guest artists. He was also rarely out of the UK charts in the 1960s and '70s with songs like Walk Tall and Elusive Butterfly. In the album chart, he had five successive top 10 records. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33363938

The Masked Tulip
Colin Fry... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34051952 Who saw that coming? Lung cancer is one of those silent killers. My sister had a tumour many years ago and was very lucky to come through the other side. Have to admit, when I first read the post I thought it was Stephen Fry and immediately conjoured up all manners of possible causes of death. knock out johnny
Colin Fry... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34051952 Who saw that coming? I like this quote from the article "Fry's manager, David Hahn, said: "He had a very big heart. Since the diagnosis, he'd been very upbeat. Because of what he does, he had no fear of death." I am not being sarcastic, if he really had a serene death, then good for him, how many of us wish that for ourselves?

dgul
Brian Sewell. Sad to hear of Brian Sewell dying (clearly took some time for the news to reach us normal folk, Pin...) Perhaps in the end it was the strain of talking like a pirate that got to him? [Hopefully it isn't too disrespectful to think that...] Anyway, he can now ride his Panther 650 in the sky...
