Let's hope EDF and BT weather the sh1tstorm. I need to keep logged into HPC!

BT is too fundamental to the country's infrastructure. If it gets into trouble the government will nationalise it. I'll lose some share money (they pay decent dividends) but I'll be able to tell my Mum about it on the phone at least.

They still act if they are nationalised anyway, I can see a lot of things being nationalised when the dudt settles to give people jobs because the private sector will be toast

Went from 6900 odd to 3300 in two years after the dot com bubble went t*ts up and 9/11, maybe 4500 tomorrow, but lot's of peeps waiting for lower to buy back in.

Thats my plan. Im got I got out of my BA shares at £2.70 when I bought for £2.30.

Going to be some good bargains out there in the coming months (as long as the markets do recover eventually)

Need someone to do a poll of what bracket the FTSE will finish tomorrow. Im going for 4444 (not a great number in Japan)

I reckon FTSE will open about 4600 then rally a bit until NYSE opens then it will go over a cliff with the Dow Jones, unless theres some really crappy news upon which it will just nosedive straight away.

Close 4000-4200. Yup I'm predicting up to 20%

Dow Jones is anyones guess, a big sell off tomorrow I reckon.

By nature I am generally Bullish but I think right now that even a blind man can see that the wheels are about to come off...

When England lift the World Cup at Wembley in 2018 the ftse will be around 9000, people now have to judge at what point they can see the bottom in this current crisis, I suspect 3900, there will be a few dead cat bounces and drops for the foreseeable future, then after this is all over and average joe can buy a house that is affordable, we will be back in a bull market stocks wise. Sorry I have digressed from tomorrows prediction but I don't have a clue ;)

and the riots, the soup kitchens, the smelting of gold in your back garden at night - whilst cleaning your guns and maintaining your diesel generator? Don't leave out the *good bits* eh?

I suspect it will be down around 250 points in the early part of trading based on what teh futures are indicating

I think yesterday was more about sending a worrying message to Wall Street. I think the House knows it will have no option but to agree and because of the Jewish Holiday there is nothing that can happen until Thursday and all the tension in the markets from the uncertainty will give them the opportunity to obtain better terms for the bailout
