It is a sad irony that left wing/ labour folk are secretly desperate to emulate and compete with those who they see as unfairly privileged aka Tory Toffs.

Some of you are making exceptional fools of yourselves - you and we know who you are.

LABOUR CHANCELLOR STOKED HPI TO GET HIMSELF INTO POWER. HE FORCED THE AUGUST 2005 CUT ON THE BoE. HE HAS FIDDLED THE INFLATION FIGURES BY INTIMIDATING THE ONS.

LABOUR IS THE PARTY OF WANNABES - BUT NEVER CAN BE'S.

There are too many such people on thsi site cluttering up the main forum with their own personal class chips.

Lets face facts.

Over the past decade, people have been on a spending binge, buying pointless rubbish with money that was not theirs to begin with.

It's payback time, those who did not borrow do not serve. The rest of the populus who are enslaved will have to do as they are told.

I'm not so sure about this title.

There was a similar question previously as to the number of free marketeers on this site, and the responses proved there were actually quite a lot, probably a majority. I suspect there are large numbers of Conservatives here as well.

HPC has never been about political philosphies or even free market versus state. Many here believe in free markets, but truly free markets, not Government backed banking cartels. The truth is that the Government decrees by fiat what is legal tender, and the banks then multiply this by loaning out what they don't have - most money is an illusion based on the fact that most borrowed money simply re-enters the banking system so that it can be loaned out again. The banks therefore receive interest several times over on the money they actually borrowed. The only thing backing up this fake money being the promise to repay.

This time round the banks got a little bit cleverer with their CDOs and RMBS and managed to allow more people to borrow more than ever before. Of course all good things and some not so good thing eventually come to end.

The political differences between the conservatives and labour is like splitting hairs. Its like taking sides with a soap character from Eastenders. Who the ****** cares?

Too right. fk all difference, Tories next who will p*ss around the edges, punish the poor etc for voting Labour last time, then do the same again, new bubble in what ever market they and their masters, the banks choose. I'm not one way or the other, both are crap, none of them are challenging the monetary system, or the power of the banks and none of them has considered taking the financial speculation out of housing. Same turd, different dog. If any hard pressed potential house buyer thinks the tories will fix anything in their favour, forget it, they've got Kirsty on board which tells us everything about their housing policy.

On the other hand Labour will deserve to get booted out just for punishment.

There are many class posters on this site - many whose contributions I look forward to reading and whose insights and intelligences educate and enlighten me.

These posters realise that optimism is the key and that the continuation is for their making when it seems like the end. They believe that it is their responsibility to pull themselves ahead of the game through their own effort, not to shorten the gap by trying to drag others down.

Concurrently, I don't think I've ever come across a forum on the internet with so many bitter, spiteful, precious losers who blame everyone else for their problems and expect other people to go and sort those problems out for them.

That won't change - no matter who is in Government or what the average multiple needed for a 2-bed semi is. Pity them.

However I think in the last three months or so the posters on this forum have shifted vastly to the left.

I think you may have a point but I'm not quite sure why it should be so in a so-called meritocracy.

I'm less convinced by the so-called class divide than by the wealth divide, and from what I can judge, wealth is as much in the hands of the working class - premiership footballers, barrow-boys turned bankers etc - as it is in the hands of anyone with middle or upper class pretensions. Death duties have seen to that.

As for myself, I may have middle class pretensions by breeding, but in practice I am certainly working class. I have no inheritance to speak of, no capital, nothing but the labour of my hands. But I am no more envious of barrow boys made good or premiership footballers who earn millions than I am of those who have inherited wealth. I am content with who and what I am.

Isn't it the case that anyone who speaks with RP is automatically dismissed as being "posh" or "snobbish" or "an upper class twit" or somesuch?

And isn't envy the real problem, not who earns, or has, what and why?

If you actually believe there's any difference between the Torys anf Labour then you really are deluded.

The Leader of the Labour Party is a socialist europhile.

The Leader of the Tory Party is a socialist europhile.

The Leader of the Lib Dem Party is a socialist europhile.

Massive difference isn't it?

True - there is very little to choose from (`you can have any colour car so long as it`s black`)!

When I was at university I had a real `working class` chip on my shoulder. Looking back, what an arrogant stupid twit I must have seemed (although I wasn`t the only one  )

Having been released from the shackles of youthful naivety, I think that we`re not going to see much difference in any of the political parties. I guess it might be nice to give LibDems a turn at government, but really it`s much of a muchness IMO.

To my eternal shame I have a degree in Politics and most of what I `learned` turned out to be a crock of sh1t. Still, I guess I`ve got enough qualifications to go down the burger flipper route if needs be :lol::lol::lol:

Im a bitter, spiteful, precious loser. Really, my life sucks, and I blame everyone.

Its a fact. Thats what happens to people that are loosers. They gat angry. i've well gone past the stage of being concerned when people tell me to get a life, duuurr, what do you think i'm trying to do. Winners need to pause to consider that loosers do things like shoot people in malls after having to be a looser for so long.

But still, this crash in tremendously uplifting and is an excellent opportunity to hate on landlords, and authority figures, and further, i can see the ultimate sonsolation prize, actually owning my own property and being able to depart this evil system, albeit as a spasticated cripal of a person with no friends.

As far as class goes, cats will always hate dogs. And dogs are too stupid to ever realise it.

That didn't take long, no sooner as the Tories toffs have a bit of success they start to have a dig at the

working class. I now have a chip on my shoulder do I ? and should be put in our place no doubt.

To me it makes no difference if the Tories are in power because the neo liberal policies will be much the same.

In fact the Tories owe New Labour a debt of gratitude, they have screwed the working class over and handed them

over to the Tories on a platter.
