Norbert
If you teach children they are just accidents that came from a mutant ape one day, and the greatest thing they can hope for with their few years on earth is to accumulate a pile of possessions, then don't be surprised when the society that comes out at the other end is shallow, brutal and stupid. Excellent! Never a truer word spoken.
guitarman001
If football didn't exist I really think that most men in this country would struggle to communicate or bond with each other. Most likely they'd sit in silence stuck for conversation. 1 LOL!!! I hate the whole football thing.
Britney's Piers
1 LOL!!! I hate the whole football thing. It's just not the football either, it's all the drama surrounding it. Who is up and who is down, who transferred where, what a club paid for such and such, what a manager said in some press conference, I mean who cares? I have to sit and listen to this every day. ploughlane
Yeah. Some time ago I decided that everything is absurd, people doubly so. There's nothing you can do about it, you want to sit down with everyone on the planet with a pen and paper and explain your point of view? Comedy helps. Satire in particular. There are others that think what you think, and have decided to comment on it and laugh at how ridiculous everything is. Kindered spirits. Laugh at it all, but 'just remember that the last laugh is on you'. I have always had this feeling that many people in the UK on their death bed who spent their whole life obsessing about their material things and more than anything their property suddenly go "OH F***" its too late now. There is a million roads you can take in life if you choose to, sadly 99% seem to take exactly the same road.

Wait & See
The whole point of this topic was to show how the state wants everyone to get married and have kids, as they are then easier to control. Banks love married men with wives who want a nice house and a fitted kitchen all on credit. Most people are just working to pay most of their salary to the banks. The banks laugh and collect every month, for decades and decades. The last thing the state and the banking system wants is people who tell them to piss off and who won't work 40 hours a week for 40 years getting into more and more debt until they die. It looks to me like most people want to be controlled by the state and the bankers, even though they moan and complain about it.
Redcellar
And don't forget: half of all people are of below-average intelligence...(I've go the stats to prove it.) I would bet that there are statistics saying more than half the people say they are above average intelligence. Stats always prove those types of things. There was one that said something like 58% of people say they are above average drivers. Got to love the arrogance of people as a whole. But people are still herd like animals. They haven't evolved much in the last million years. Derren Browns experiments on the TV shows show the pack like mentality. The fake game show where they chose a mans outcomes for the night, good or bad, all of them were voted as give the block the bad choice. Right to the end the pack stuck together and went for nasty stuff. The majority of people will behave like their crude ancestors, particularly if they think they can get away with it or be lost in a crowd. See the Milgram experiment for the Sheeple nature of people. 65% of people killed the guy in the next room, and felt being told to continue was sufficient reason alone. Sick little animals no better than ancestors 100,000 years ago.
homeforliving
The muppets want to go to university and get a crap job with a daft title and get married to another loser and buy a house, car and other assorted made in China shite on credit and then have children that the world does'nt need anyway. It would be nice if we had a country filled with people who could think for themselves, as then we may have avoided this disaster that we now face. All those self cert, housebuying bellends should really be locked up for crimes against the country. Nothing ever changes with human beings. Always the same sheep mentality that runs riot and always the same end result of no one having the ability to think for themselves. People like being controlled it seems. Quite glad to see this post, that somebody gets it, couldn't agree more! Fed up with boring conservative people who thinks everybody has to do what they did and no logical question should be asked. The state also loves to have lots of people relying on the benefits and the largesse that they dispense. Those people are also easy to control, so the state wins both ways. It is becoming increasingly clear that it is has been exceedingly easy for the few to control the many for centuries. But it seems that the world is waking up. We live in interesting times. True, although not sure if you're saying you have a problem with the fact we are accidents that came from a mutant ape one day, because we are. The magic is that we can make more of life than the sum of its parts. What do you like doing other than possessions? Teaching your kids music? Learning history? Science? Experiencing nature? Creationists don't really have those last 3 wonders: They have the intellectual cop out of saying it's God what done it. No further thought required. If you believe that we just have this sliver of existence with no sky god offering a fictional afterlife, then IMO you are a lot less likely to waste your precious years. And have a lot more respect for other folks handful of years on the beautiful planet Earth. Me, I'm constantly amazed by the natural world, but have given up being underwhelmed by the banality of the various religious explanations (although it was often, but not always, based on the best info available in the iron age middle east). Wait & See
How can people stand up for the current system that we have. FFS open your eyes and look at the state of the western world through following the model we have at the moment - Brainwashing At School, University, Poorly Paid Career, Marrage, Mortgage, Children, Crushing Debts, Death. Like I said before, when it comes right down to the bottom line, most people want to be controlled by the bankers and the politicians. People moan about bankers bonuses, but are quite happy to borrow 20k for a car, or a fitted kitchen, or a holiday etc, etc, etc. It make no sense to me, all these protests against the system, if no one actually wants proper change. Austin Allegro
I'd agree with this. I'd quite like to be normal sometimes but a complete lack of interest in watching any sport makes it impossible. One good thing about our multi-tv-channel world, at least there is always another channel to watch. It was horrific in the seventies and early eighties if you hated sports and light entertainment. I agree too. A friend has found a good way round this nonsense. His work requires him to talk about football (because he works with the kind of men who don't trust people who don't like it; ie, they have no other topic of conversation). He just checks the headlines of the tabloids online, says to his clients something like 'What about united and that goal, eh?' then lets them do the rest of the talking. Greg Bowman
You forgot .... 5. 99.9% of people are complete selfish wankers. You better get used to it, or you are in for a very difficult time. No there not they are just people trying to get through the day, worrying about their job, their kids school or hoping they can carve a better life for themselves and their families. You can find totally selfless stories in any form of media every day (checkout the Hospital staff who when they heard of the crash on the M5 came in on their days off) You will find what you look for you, and if you really think like that high house prices are the least of your worries. People in general are great and more than willing to help. I suggest you change your partner/family/life/career/country if the above holds true for you. Those sort of toxic views are like taking poison and expectng someone else to die.......

It looks to me like most people want to be controlled by the state and the bankers, even though they moan and complain about it. Most of us are not freeloader looking for a handout, so yes we are happy to work 40 hours a week (or more) for 40 years (or more). Yet we still don't want a big state and crony capitalism, we want to earn what we earn and keep the vast majority of it to spend as we see fit. You need to separate out the two idea in your mind.
