Danny Deflation
Sobering, really, when you remember that if it weren't for Gorbals Mick losing the battle to keep MPs' expenses secret, then the home-flipping, porn films, tax-evasion, swimming pool cleaning, kit kats, horse manure, nappies, and so on, would still be going on. It's all very well David Cameron and others getting on their self-righteous horses, but are they suggesting they didn't know that this was going on? Gman
Hazel 'Ginger' Blears and Jacqui Smith are one of the same! Listen to their voices. Its very sad, for the nation to finally wake up to the fact that all MP's are corrupt and out for themselves, er duh! why does it take something like this for people to finally see?? Very very sad and brainwashed mindset of our nation.

piece of paper
Hazel Blears is the worst kind of Labour hypocrite: a troughing finger-wagging career socialist who cares little for the constituents she has been elected and paid to represent. She claimed second home expenses for furnish her SECOND HOME. You have to pay capital gains tax on profits from the sale of a second home. She didn't. She is a crook. She has fiddled her taxes. She should face trial. What make her any different to Ken Dodd? (Ken Dodd is arguably better looking.) Blears blamed the system - and it was only when the Tories started agreeing to hand back the pennies did the ginger witch offer to pay the capital gains tax. Benefit thieves can be sent to prison. The government spends thousands on persuading scrotes to phone a benefits hotline to grass on each other. What makes Blears' actions any different from some young woman on a council estate pretending that her boyfriend doesn't live with her so she can have a few extra bob for the kids? Both are doing wrong, but I know which one has a greater chance of going to prison. Blears is a complete disgrace, the lowest of the low. The ginger-mopped fraudster should be sacked and tried for tax fiddling. But she won't. Because she knows the right people. Now when's that chuffing general election? So, having addressed all that you can see that is good in her, are you going to consider whether she has any bad points before you decide which way you're going to vote? p-o-p

GordonBrownSpentMyFuture
Apologies if this has been asked before, and replied to, but this is a long thread so I thought I'd ask (again?) for my and others' benefit... I've looked on the Telegraph website but it didn't jump out at me. Does anyone have a link for the breakdown of individual MPs expenses? My reason being is that, clearly, MPs are shitting themselves about this whole corrupt fiasco. Many, I would imagine, are wondering just how safe their seats are come the next election and whether they'll (hopefully!) be joining the growing legion of unemployed Britons as a result of their despicable behaviour. I would personally like to know how my local MPs behaved so I can use this to inform my future voting decisions. With email, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking tools at our disposal (not to mention word-of-mouth down the pub) I think we can collectively piss on a lot of MPs' bonfires (which is clearly what they're anticipating). Thanks, CC

messychopper
the property swindles (and they are frauds and swindles) taken by MPs abusing the system is the biggest can of worms about to be exposed, making a pipe for a swimming pool look miserly. im glad that the whole thing is unravelling into one huge nasty scandalous legal taxation avoidance property fight. im so glad i contribute my hard earned taxes to this mire of filth called a democracy. Explains why the tories never ever called it in, I've been wondering for years why they never bashed brown on his housing / boom / bust record? they were all aboard the gravy train..... Quite honestly I'm amazed at the dishonesty. Still if the auditers want to visit Keith Vas and John Prescott I'd be greatful (no need to count stationary just count cars and houses

1929crash
Interesting in telegraphhttp://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/david_hughes/...s_a_judges_view A lawyer friend faces a dilemma. He has been reading with growing incredulity the Telegraph's disclosures about the Westminster sleazocracy whose snout-in-troughs antics have enlivened our pages for the past week.He also happens do be a part-time judge and it frequently falls to him to punish people convicted of benefit fraud of various kinds. The amounts involved are frequently modest - certainly it is rare for them to reach the dizzy tens of thousands that MPs are routinely trousering as their greedily exploit their expenses and allowances system. When he passes judgement on one of these benefit cheats in future, he says, he will feel "soiled" because he sees MPs getting away with far, far worse. He also makes the pertinent point that if the benefit fraudsters have paid back the money they illicitly gained, it is no defence in law. It does not mitigate the offence. MPs who are rushing to their cheque books right now to try to assuage the fury of their electorates should just bear that in mind. I can understand the Judge's dilemma. Justice should apply to all, or it's not justice.

19 year mortgage 8itch
fun tomorrow folksNow their injunction has apparently failed Ed Balls, Yvette Cooper will feature prominently in tomorrow’s Telegraph “couple’s edition”. The money grabbing Winertons along with Labour’s piggy Keen couple. David Blunkett Peter Hain, Ben Bradshaw, Dougie Alexander, Tessa Jowell, David Lammy, Martin Salter, John Reid, The Speaker again, Beerly Hughes, Dianne Abbott and some other Labour pigs are coming in the next frew days. If that's true, I might buy tomorrow's telegraph and frame it for posterity. As for Blears, this story was a thread a few weeks ago, now its even more telling/saddening: http://www.salfordstar.com/article.asp?id=147 http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/ind...p;#entry1840811
