Antichrist is a lovely Sunday afternoon film suitable for all the family... Seriously, it is well acted but utterly vile. I'm still having nightmares now and I will never watch it again.

I tried watching it and switched off pretty quickly.

Just pointless depravity.

The Cabin in the Woods has got such a cracking review I will be seeing that one, sounds great.

I saw Wrath of the Titans yesterday. Dreadful tosh, very hard to tell if the acting was bad because the characters were so one-dimensional that there was little scope for yer actual acting. Cliched stuff and I was hoping the monster (Cronos) would wipe them all out as it would have been more interesting.

I've picked up some great DVDs at boot sales recently:

39 Steps

Casablanca - perhaps the best film ever

Great Expectations (the 1945 version they used to show at Christmas on TV - as a child I was fascinated by Miss Haversham's cobweb-covered room)

Italian Job - original version - and several othe Maurice Micklewhite classics

Moulin Rouge (both versions) etc.

All for a quid each at the most. On to eBay when I have finished with them.

The Odessa File on 5 USA + 1 right now. Great film with Jon Voight, Maximillian Schell, Derek Jacobi and others.

Just perfect for a Sunday afternoon :)

They don't make em like that any more!

I always felt that it was over-rated. I prefer 'The Quiller Memorandum' when it comes to Nazi hunting.

Starship Troopers - whole film on YouTube:

Cheers Durch, will watch that.

From 'How Green was my Valley, I discovered this wonderful scene on how to deal with bullies. It's all good, but 2.30min in for the main scene (sounds out of synch a little bit)

An outstanding performance from a very young Roddy McDowell

One for all family on a Sunday...

Wall-E

Only saw that very recently, I was about to go for a shower and was absolutely gripped by it so I sat watching the whole thing. The attention to detail is stunning. Perhaps the best animated film I've ever seen, and one of the best films I've ever seen.

I re-watched School For Scoundrels today, since I'm on a Northern break. It's just as entertaining as I remember it.

Yes it's pretty top drawer that and hasn't really aged things like the scene at the used car dealer could just as easily be today.
