The firm's shares have been suspended since 3 April after it failed to report results for the year ended 30 September 2022 before the 31 March deadline. Inland Homes has appointed FRP Advisory as administrators, with the group having been charged with the probe of related party relations and transactions under the previous management team. The group, which has annual turnover of £181million, had been forecast to make a £91million loss for the year.

Aspire Sports and Cultural Trust, which has been running Gloucester City Council’s leisure services for 15 years, has gone into liquidation. This means the Bruton Way gym and a swimming pool will be out of action for the foreseeable future along with the tennis courts, outdoor sports pitches and all other Aspire-run facilities at Oxstalls. The decision has come as a shock to council chiefs who had an agreement in principle for the charity to continue running the services until September 2024. Foodmek Ltd has supplied equipment to some of the biggest names in food manufacturing in the UK and abroad since 1971, including Rowse Honey. But the Tayport-based firm announced on Tuesday that it had applied to the court to appoint a liquidator. Foodmek said 32 people’s jobs were affected with insolvency specialist Shona Campbell of Henderson Loggie to be appointed. It comes after the company experienced a “significant slowdown” in its order pipeline, despite operating profitably during the Covid pandemic by fulfilling contracts for the pharmaceuticals industry. “We manufacture capital equipment and have been very busy quoting for new contracts, but unfortunately decisions have been deferred or projects cancelled due to economic uncertainty, caused by the war in the Ukraine and spiraling energy costs,” said Foodmek managing director Scot Kelly. All 55 staff remain employed and the company continues to trade as the joint administrators explore options for its future, including the possibility of a sale. Announcing its appointment, FRP Advisory said Pendle Engineering had faced “increasing financial difficulties” due to the impact of rising input costs and supply chain inflation, which had ultimately led to it being called in. Joint administrator David Willis, restructuring advisory partner at FRP, said: “Our appointment means the business can continue trading as we work through options and consider the prospect of a sale process to protect the future of Pendle Engineering Limited. We encourage any interested parties to come forward.”
