R.P.McMurphy
I have no problem with honours to Tim Peake, but Ant and Dec OBE ?
happy_renting
Peake is joined in the Royal Queen's honourationments list by Dame James Dyson, inventor and discoverer of Jim's Dyson, the subatomic particle that causes suction. Together with electromagnetism, gravity, and the weak, strong and average nuclear forces, suction is one of the 6 fundamental forces in Commander Tim Peake's Universe. Frank Hovis
I have no problem with honours to Tim Peake, but Ant and Dec OBE ? Tremendous light entertainers who consistently win awards; good choice IMO. Tim Peake has just sat on a space bus for a few months. Anybody off the street could do that. Frank Hovis
Has he met Vulcans yet? No, they ensure that they have a very high fibre diet because the lack of gravity has a bad effect upon the digestive process.

The Masked Tulip
I sent him a tweet asking him how do we know that he is the real Tim Peake and not some alien who has body-snatched him whilst he was sleeping. But I did not get a reply. I have more suspicions now.

dgul
Well, I found it amusing that they gave him a CMG instead of a CBE. That is usually for service in foreign lands. I can imagine the guys in the honours office having a right old laugh about it.

Will she use a light sabre to bestow this honour on Tim Peake? I'm not sure the elderly should be let loose with light sabres. Look at the damage they do to estate agent's windows just with an automatic mini metro.

Perhaps it was forecast to be a sunny day, for the ceremony, and the Queen recalled Dame Vera always banging on about wanting to meet again. happy_renting
The Queen has pulled a real coup here. By enoblemating a person in Space, she has proven that the British Empire now extends into Outer Space. Star maps will now have to be coloured red. Dorkins
Technical query: How do you command a Sir to arise, when in space, there is no up nor down? The Sun is in space and manages to rise every day, so perhaps if the Queen was to orbit British astronaut Commander Tim Peake he would appear to rise from her perspective. thecrashingisles
Technical query: How do you command a Sir to arise, when in space, there is no up nor down? Technical query 2: Does the phrase 'Anybody got any Veras?' need to be reworded as 'Anybody got any Dames?'? Is there an expert on rhyming slang in the house?
