I have just read that thinking 'I don't remember replying to this topic'

I would have chosen the same pieces except with addition of Beethoven's 7th symphony 2nd movement, I'm sure if you like those above it'll float your boat.

Holst: The Planets.

Learning to live without sexual love has been a bit difficult, in fact it's required quite a lot of effort to accept I'll probably be single for the rest of my life. It's not so difficult though when you look back at all the emotional energy, time and money spent in the fruitless search for that 'special someone' and quite liberating really when you realise she doesn't exist.

I'm probably at the stage where I think I will do the same. Longing for someone that can never fullfill basuc desire is pointless, even if I think I'm not asking for much. But if you say its difficult its not a good sign for me. I guess I should just try stay busy all the time.

40 is your prime.....no longer three score years plus ten....now four score years.....all downhill from now on......older but far wiser.....enjoy.

Physically I feel past my prime at 39, although not massively. There are the odd aches and pains starting to appear though and I'm not inclined to quickly spring to my feet every time I get up (even though I still could, unless it's a bad back day). Some of that could be improved if I got a bit fitter and lost some weight but having to do more to stay the same is another sign of past your prime.

You're beginning to feel older-folks knowledge: "life begins at 40".

If aches and pains, worrying about the state of the roof, and having women look at you as if you're mad if you show even a hint of interest in them count as "life"... Being interested in things like model railways, astronomy, and old mines seems to be mostly older people who, erm, definitely aren't in their prime too, but that was the case for me in my 20s too (apart from the model railway one).

"GAS" is a problem. Only faith will get you through it! I believe I have enough, but there's always one I don't have! ;)
