Just notice a sizeable number of auction properties listed in the Plumstead area (borough of Greenwich) from the company Allsop.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/Plumstead.html?sortType=1&index=10

It seems like a lot for a relatively small area. Is this a normal or the sign of something bigger?

Countrywide, Allsop are auctioning 281 properties at the end of the month.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find/Allsop/Auction.html?locationIdentifier=BRANCH%5E75673&includeSSTC=true&_includeSSTC=on

Is this a first hint of something going on?

A few.. 'in the same family ownership for 25+ years. Sign of a few owners not hanging around for buyers/hoping buyers can pass MMR at crazy prices?

When I checked a few days ago.. some entered by The Salvation Army, but I can not recall locations.

Story with the rest exiting the market? A few repos and banks offloading HMOs and zombie stuff it has carried for years?

Maybe M21er will begin to do a few more of his excellent auction tracking threads he has done in the past... things may soon be getting very interesting at the auctions.

haven't seen an ad like this for a while:

£329,995 Offers in Excess of

2 bedroom terraced house for sale Percival Road, Enfield

BUYERS INCENTIVE £200 towards legal fees sttc. This two bedroom Terrace Property overlooking Bush Hill Park and within 0.4 miles of Bush Hill Park British Rail Station. The property offers through lounge, fitted kitchen, 70ft garden and CHAIN FREE

Wow, £200. I bought a few bits for a bike recently, the bill was around £300, which reflected a reduction from rrp of around £200. Now I can get the same cash discount by spending 1,000 times as much on a pile of bricks.

"

Foxtons share price plummets as it issues profit warning on cooling London house prices"

Respect to Foxtons! I do not want to see any jokes about them on this thread! They are very hard working young guys with plenty of hair gel and polyester suits, who reduce prices 24/7 like there is no tomorrow -> RESPECT

" Demand will continue to outstrip supply"

sounds like a hamishism

Demand for Ferrari's is high...if I got a 0% interest loan for one....I still wouldnt buy it due to the deprecation and ongoing maintenance costs.

Ferraris....cheaper to buy and run that a house. Get in quick before you miss out, they aren't making any more carbon you know :lol::lol::lol:

Someone mentioned they'd not see a 2 bed in Balham for sale for a while, here#s one for 325K

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48864032.html

And here's one that's just dropped £50K, to £425K....and still 50% over priced (IMHO)

Yeah, I saw the Balham one - £325k would have been unthinkable 6 months ago. Things are changing quickly there. Balham / Tooting are definitely areas to watch.

You had wage inflation back then so it didn't matter too much as the negative equity would be cleared at some point. Today where there is negative real wage inflation you are well and truly fecked which is why Camerons bubble is so much more dangerous than Browns.

Hi Venger

Excellent memory - not done an auction since 2012!

I'd love to do another auction but I currently have a contract so no time to research / prepare all the data and links. I'm not doing them on Twitter now - It was just that I added the functionality to tweet the results in real time as the results were posted here so people could follow the results a little more discretely on their 'phone.

Current contract expires 31 March 2015 so maybe then...

Cheers
