moonriver
Good old FP continues his message of "don't touch property with a bargepole". Hear him at the end of today's "Wake up to Money". The related discussion starts 26.30 mins in. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0070lr5 Nice to hear FP being able to speak on the bbc of a hpc, completley unchallenged, for once. A good clear finish to the intereview from FP...."preserve your capital, and rent rather than buy now." He also appears on Moneywatch bbc2 8pm tonight, with Andy Verity. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t0zpg
Pent Up
That man is an absolute legend. He's been getting some good primetime coverage recently. He was on sky news last week in a little piece about the impending property crash predicting 30% down over the next two years. I'll look forward to watching that tonight. Thanks Edited July 6, 2010 by Pent Up
moonriver
That man is an absolute legend. He's been getting some good primetime coverage recently. I agree. FP was a lone voice for years out there, as far as hpc talk was concerned. But he was not afraid to go on the mainstream media, and argue his case with the many VI's, such as estate agents, that were often bought in. I think, at last, the time could well of come, that the public will take more notice of FP's hpc predictions, than what the VI's have to say. From what I remember of the presenter's Andy Verity's last series about property, he was a STR'er. I wonder if he has bought since then, or stuck through with his belief of an hpc? He was asked last week on one of the radio progs if he owned or rented. He wouldn't tell them. I think he always claimed he STR'd years back. More power to his elbow anyway! juvenal
Who is FP? http://jonathandaviswm.com/ Jonathan Davis used to post here as 'Financial Planner', and was the voice of HPC. He has (over the past few years) consistently claimed the housing market needs, and will get a 30% plus downward correction. He runs a wealth management compnay, and still posts on HPC occasionally. People teased him about some of his stock predictions, but it was all a bit of banter really. It would be good to see him posting here again.. also cgnao. scottbeard
im not being funny but didnt FP also say 'not touch property with bargepole' in a previous interview in 2007 ? Are you suggesting 2007 prices were a good time to snap up properties?!
Pent Up
Now posts as 'Killer Bunny' Never would have guessed that was him! Maybe he could post a thread now and then letting us know what shows he is going to be on.
Killer Bunny
People teased him about some of his stock predictions, but it was all a bit of banter really. Ah the memory of HPC.co.uk. Actually, a poster threatened to take him to the FSA for making forecasts. Such a threat could not be taken lightly. So, he stopped as Hon Spokesperson for this site. Thread #1 Thread #2 A little unfair I think. he and bubb were/are both the first to stress that if you go into the casino, you have to do a bit of due diligence. what has become apparent is the croupiers have been stacking the deck. would you in all honesty like to do business with the casino now? Prof
Did you.......... I mean he ? PS. I wish FP, whoever he is....... would just calm down a little, and present his arguments with a little more restraint. I heard him on a radio interview recently, and he sounded a little "manic", he kept interrupting his "opponent", which I thought lessened the impact of his message. I have witnessed the FP of old, deliver his message in a calm manner, which struck fear into the hearts of the property types, but brought a smile to my face. Still, it`s good to have someone who tells it like it is, and tries to balance the media`s "property only goes up in price" mantra.
@contradevian
Shame his "public persona" got chased off this site. I tend to value the opinions of "real people" more. Also he was good media/PR for this site. Didn't know he was posting again under a different username (which is good). Pent Up
Twitter.com/JonathanDavisWM Thanks, as soon as I work out how to use twitter I'll get right on that! PS. I thought that his piece on sky news although pre recorded was very concise and too the point, and if I was considering buying a house currently I would have been suitably terrified!
