domo
So she was deeply in debt and thought to spend ANOTHER £60k to get out of it, hm nice thinking, feel sorry for your kids being brought up by you.
Harry Monk
Wendy, 44, funded most of the project with SIX credit cards. She owes the Halifax £9,500, Citicard £5,000, American Express £3,500, Tesco £5,000, M&S £4,500 and Barclaycard £5,000. Wow, she's a pretty shrewd businesswoman. Cos if I was looking for money to tart up a house, I'd be looking at borrowing it at 20% APR too
cartimandua51
that cartimandua51's going to have your guts for garters, Mr wickywackwoo. just look what she did to poor A.Steve. Naah - Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and dyed-in-the-wool misogynists all come into the same category of "only to be argued with if the alternative is cleaning out a blocked toilet" (something else most men come over all faint if faced with!) TDH270
Do you reckon she's do porn? There is a market for that sort of thing... older women. Hey, its a way to make some money. Edited March 25, 2008 by TDH270
bobthe~
Do you reckon she's do porn? Hey, its a way to make some money. Well, she is obviously influenced by all the property porn she saw. Maybe if she switched to late night channel 5...
Sledgehead
I agree. If you show kids endless adverts for 'cheesy-twizzlers', they will want them. That's why they stick the adverts on. Same for the property porn deluge. If anyone ever attempts to refute your view, two words : Notting Hill
Leonard Hatred
I'm going to get rich by becoming a sob story developer. I take a tale like this one, tart it up a bit, and sell it to the newspapers. Demand for sorrow outstrips supply, there's never been a better time to cry, etc.

Not Long Now
"I thought, I'll buy another property, give it a lick of paint and scam some sucker out of £30k more than I paid for it. Trouble is, it seems houses don't always go up in value after all. Is it illegal to go on the game?" Oh dear. I do actually feel quite sorry for her to be honest. How many others have been sucked into this "Homes under the hammer" mentality? How could she get it so wrong? SIX credit cards?!? Tip of the iceberg.....house prices DON'T always go up you know...! Guest happy?
That sucks.....there was a time when credit card debt was unsecured. Now it seems that AMEX will stat demand you if you have any assets at all. AMEX have only in recent years issued credit cards - previously they issued only charge cards (a very different beast) and in my experience they have always used charging orders rather than bugger around with enforcement warrants. Sledgehead
I bake my own bread so it's biccies or bust.. I prefer cakey. A nice girly who makes cakes. Yum! Not that I can't appreciate a girl who makes biscuits. It wouldn't do for us all to like the same things. Bill's very bright to do that." "He's going for the righteous indignation dollar. A lot of people are feeling that indignation. We've done research. Huge market. He's doing a great thing." "The trapped dollar. Big dollar. Huge dollar. Good market. Look at our research. We see that many people feel trapped. We play to that and seperate them into the tarpped dollar ... Nicolaj
MY pledge to the British people — to homeowners, to businesses, to households everywhere — is that I will do nothing that puts the stability of the economy at risk. You've done enough Mr Brown People in their 30s and above can remember the early 90s, when the problems around the world hit Britain hardest and plunged us into a recession yes I can..I'd just moved in and i ended up living on £20 a week for food and travel to work..it was rough and thought it would never end. i think it will be worse this time around. and there is nothing Brown can do to stop it. Sledgehead
.MY pledge to the British people — to homeowners, to businesses, to households everywhere — is that I will do nothing that puts the stability of the economy at risk He was being extremely frank, but the press have just mis-punctuauted him: MY pledge to the British people — to homeowners, to businesses, to households everywhere — is that I will do nothing . That puts the stability of the economy at risk See?

superslinky
I am not sure of the advice to move your money to another bank you do not owe money to! There is a thing called a third party debt order which is easily accessible by any judgment creditor...
_w_
My trigger was the word 'Kondratieff' in a joke on the web. It went from there. How interesting. I'd never given that word much thought thinking it was yet another of these one time techniques that couldn't work the minute you could read about it in a book. I finally managed to read more about it this w/e and found it to be most interesting. Would you say it is worthy of study, or was it just a trigger for something else? MarkG
AMEX have only in recent years issued credit cards - previously they issued only charge cards (a very different beast) If by 'recent years', you mean 'since at least the early 90s' (I forget exactly when I first got my Amex credit card, but it was sometime back then).
