exiges
I'd like to see a few of the land grabers go bust. They've ruined many nice properties in the last 10 years. Sadly most of them are boomers who bought nice places in the late 80s/early 90s. But thanks to Phil + Kirsty they realised hadn't bought a house but a potential housing estate instead.. made a few hundred £k selling it to developers paid of their mortgage, spent a few quid on twigs in a vase for their house and sold it on for some other poor mug to live in. They paid a cool £900k for it in November 2007.. peak of the peaks. Zoopla values it now at £738k. I don't hear good things about Wellingborough. More research shows that TONY KING LOGISTICS LTD T/A TKL LTD lives at that address.. would appear the logistics sector isn't doing so well. I feel for anyone losing their home though even if it does mean freeing the house up for someone who can afford the new lower price.

HouseDog
Wow, that's just perfect isn't it ? *sigh* Yes its very nice, but maybe a bit too much garden. TheCountOfNowhere
The post Christmas madness has begun: I was quite interested in this place: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29042182.html According to the land regiustry it should be selling for between 500-550K if you match the last selling price with ther current land registry value. Been on the market for 11 months, gone SSTC once and fallen through. has gone SSTC again, no drop in asking price. If this is a measure of how resillient the housing market is in a small town like Northampton I dont think any of us will ever get the house of our dreams. Maybe it's time to look at emmigrating. exiges
I was quite interested in this place: Do you know what they accepted ? As always, these sales are falling through, so odds are it'll be back. That said, the one bloody house we did put in an offer in for was snapped up within a week of coming to market by "full asking pricers". In other news, it looks like we're exchanging this Friday/Monday..

Executive Sadman
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-20233587.html Was this house built this way .. or do you think that's an extension at the front? ----- I'd be well pissed if my neighbour decided to extend his house right up to my property line like that. If I decided to do something just as obnoxious it would turn two detached houses into semis.
TheCountOfNowhere
This place looked familiar to me: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-27678242.html?premiumA=true Weren't these the BIG houses in great billing they were trying to sell the plots of land/commissioned builds for in 2007 ? It looks like they have build at least one and are now trying to rent it out....rental price equivalent to £400K valued house. I dont think it will rent out at that price either!!! Or you can buy this one just in front of this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32571586.html?premiumA=true If you look at street view it looks like they have build the expensive rental one in the this ones back garden !!!! That one is currently on with 3 agents. In case anyone doesn't know great billing....it's right next to one of the rough parts of Northampton and it smells badly of the sewerage works when the wind is in the wrong direction. TheCountOfNowhere
Where to start.. The horrible money grasping land grabbers perhaps ? I remember these plots because I went and had a look at the time. Contacted the developers but they never replied. I reckon, from what I saw, they wanted someone to up front the cost of building on the plot, i.e. snot actually selling the land for someone to self build on but selling a housing where you get some input and they get massive profit. In a normal world the developers would have been bust long ago and the plots selling at a decent price to decent people.
