  6. Still waiting & looking here - just V busy.
  7. I'm looking at Rightmove once a week (area Northampton) and asking prices are definitely falling. PB is not showing any price rises.
  8. Are asking prices falling in Nottingham?
  9. Are asking prices now falling in Leicester?
  10. Scots Corner is just a name made up - estate agents tend to do this sort of thing with the hope of presenting a poor area as something better. I wouldn't be fooled if I were you. I'd look elsewhere. Milton Keynes has a lot to offer if you're commuting. I live in Northampton and don't recommend the area you're looking at.
  11. If this actually happens, I should be rich beyond my wildest dreams! And we're not even in the Panto season yet.
  12. I've just restarted my PB with a clean install and its now quite clear that prices are falling in Northampton.
  13. Yes agreed - the game looks up. London is clearly falling; Foxtons profits are falling. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/constructionandproperty/11181672/Foxtons-hit-by-sharp-slowdown-in-London-housing-market.html Europe is looking in a lot of trouble again. Markets always clear.
  14. http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/politics/planning-inspector-has-not-listened-to-concerns-over-plans-for-nearly-40-000-new-homes-for-west-northamptonshire-1-6350540 Planning inspector ‘has not listened’ to concerns over plans for nearly 40,000 new homes for West Northamptonshire Councillor David Mackintosh, leader of Northampton Borough Council, said concerns about congestion and overstretched public services had not been answered and pledged to oppose or amend the plans. He said: “It is very disappointing that the planning inspector has not listened to local people and asked for more changes to be made to the plan which will have a major impact on our town. “People across Northampton are rightly concerned about the effect thousands of extra houses will have on our town, including the need for infrastructure to cope with this, and we had reflected this in our comments on the plan. “Our road network is already struggling at peak times and more homes will only add to this, as well as adding pressures to other services.” He added: “Moving forward we will be using our planning powers to force developers to provide the infrastructure our growing town will need and we will continue to do whatever we can to oppose or improve the plans.” _____
  15. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11121726/House-prices-have-finally-started-to-fall-after-two-years.html Hometrack - House prices have finally started to fall after two years.
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/bank-of-england/11121221/Pound-spikes-as-Mark-Carney-says-first-interest-rate-rise-getting-closer.html 'Pound spikes as Mark Carney says first interest rate rise 'getting closer' ____ Thats the 6 month warning bell. I suspect rates will rise in March 2015 - just in time to make the "who's hands is the economy safest in" argument - center stage before the General Election.
  17. http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/business/northamptonshire-the-focus-for-house-search-on-channel-4-s-location-location-location-1-6274191 Northamptonshire the focus for house search on Channel 4’s Location Location Location "The four bedroom detached house Rinku and Sunder viewed in Crick is still on the market with Long Buckby-based agent Laurence Tremayne for £259,950. Kirstie said the property was one of the ‘worst laid out houses’ she’d ever seen. However she said the family home had a huge amount of space and potential, describing it as a ‘developers dream’."
  18. I note the 'estate agent' on the 'Moving from London to St James' thread didn't reappear. It probably didn't workout as he had planned.
  19. I still think we need a rise in interest rates to trigger a full on House Price Crash. Its currently swaying in the breeze but it still needs a push. The BOE won't make any upward movement till after the Scotland referendum - incase it triggers Yes voters. Currently, I think Feb 2015 is most likely - so the Conservatives will be able to pose a question - about who you (the voter) trusts to keep the economy on track.
  20. Hi WalterWhite St James would not be at the top end of my list - I would be worried by historic flooding. http://www.northampton.gov.uk/downloads/file/4216/st-james-flood-risk-assessment http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/content/image_galleries/easter_floods_1998_gallery.shtml?1 http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._James_End,_Northampton Its also not the best area of central Northampton. I'd consider other areas but that may depend on your budget. Are you hoping to commute to London via the train station? Im not trying to put you off Northampton - but if I was commuting I'd look at Milton Keynes. Less journey time, more trains. MK has a much nicer shopping centre.
  21. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/festival-of-business/11019416/London-loses-out-to-Northampton-as-small-businesses-seek-a-more-welcoming-community.html London loses out to Northampton as small businesses seek a more welcoming community Northampton reheels its image from "dirty streets" and "beggars" to Silverstone, shoe fashion and advanced manufacturing ____ The PR Team have been doing their bit!
  22. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11040337/Homeowners-slash-house-prices-in-largest-ever-summer-sale.htmlIt would seem to be a universal drop. The price tag on the average UK property coming to market dropped by 2.9pc in the first half of August, the biggest summer fall ever recorded by the UK's largest property website, Rightmove. .
