Nor 'cos of Charlie, or any supposed terrist threat. But the level of security theatre there is going to make it an ordeal, and if I go now I'm letting the real terrists (i.e. TPTB) win. geezer466 Posted January 18, 2015 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Lorry fires are more common that you think, particulary where the brakes are faulty and the friction causes the linings to catch fire, (often close to some accelerant oil or axle grease for example) Not a weekly event on the chunnel but not as isolated to happen twice since it opened.. (Think it was a wagon fire which closed the thing for Months some years ago) Only reported this time round because of the increased terrorist activity on the Continent. The tunnel that had the fire is still closed. I wonder why that is? damage to the tunnel structure? People in the tunnel?
