beccles
Rows and rows of boarded up houses in Manchester and they're building more nearby. Doesn't make sense Edited March 15, 2013 by beccles

crashmonitor
Got to agree with Beeney on this one. Seems to be something we do a lot in this country, spend money building something new before sorting out what is already there. HS2 and the rest of the rail network springs to mind on a different infrastructure issue.

MattW
With houses boarded up like that, one can only assume that there is no-one waiting for social housing in Manchester.
SarahBell
Looks like gorton ... they're socially cleansing and building shiny apartments for people. Rather than dreary estates full of houses they're now building a brightly coloured vomitarium of tall skinny houses and flats. Sorry, apartments. MattW
vomitarium What a great word!
SarahBell
What a great word! At the end of people like us - they had some woman wanting to leave harupurhey go to trafford/salford to some right 'deck access' modern version of the crescents in hulme. They were a right vomitarium too.
@contradevian
Gotta keep those prices up somehow!
200p
No different to those empty Chinese "investment" flats. It may look vacant, but it is like that for a purpose. Who's balance sheet is that lot propping up?! ~Who's benefiting? Who is being able to keep that Aston Martin on the road? Etc..
