Ouch Sorry I have a VI in not revealing the location.

redgenieuk
it is amazing, houses are still only selling when the sells are realistic. house over the road, woman had an offer for 185K, turned it down because she wanted 190K. She paid 207k, cheapest on the estate the same was 165k, 15 months ago. Anyway, she had the offer around 4 months ago and nothing since. The Masked Tulip
A lot of these properties are Midsomer Murder houses aren't they? You get the impression that some kooky in-bred family lives in them busily killing off all the locals. I mean, they are the sort of places bought by some rich city type who gets their first smell of the country and buys it before working out the practicalities of how remote it is, how it is an hour by narrow road to the nearest shops, going weeks without seeing someone and then ranting at any rambler who passes, having to organise oil delivery and septic tank emptying.... etc, etc.

Fairies Wear Boots
Does anyone get "The Week" publication? I have a copy of this weeks and I flipped over to a page entitled "Best properties on the market" which I think is the title every week. 'Eugh' I thought, I want some HPC, not this nonsense. However the subtitle reads "Houses with significant price reductions." Obviously a HPCers view is the were all significantly overvalued beforehand, and afterwards! But it was nice to see a publication admitting that reductions are the order of the day. Northumberland was 949950 now 799K. Northumberland number 2 was 350K now 300K. Surrey 2.75M now 2.35M West Sussex 3.25M now 2.75M Inverness OIEO 305K to OEIO 255K Hampshire was 3M now 2.5 Leicestershire 695K now 550K Kent 1.65M now 1.45M Kent 750K now 680K (bully for them!) Nice to see agents advertising their vendors properties as REDUCED!
