grumpy-old-man-returns
It's only a number. it's a nice number though. some goldbugs are expecting a drop at the end of september, then hopefully the PPT will RIP & pm's will find their true market value not based on supression. grumpy-old-man-returns
Who are these gold bugs you speak of? posters like cyclist on this thead & others kittcomm threads in the main forum.... also GF et al have also commented that pullbacks are to be expected, these are used as buying points for those heavily invested in pm's. what are your thoughts Minos ? you think gold will hold or a pullback in late sept/oct then back up again ? It's a safe store of value right now in these troubled fiat times, surely you agree on that ? edited- then there are the proffessional goldbugs who are in the 'wait until the current bout of deflation is over before expecting pm's to really climb' camps. this is my preferred camp, but i did enjoy the $1000 post even though it will come & bite me later this month/next month. Minos
no, anxiety, that's a better word to use Be honest. Your recent decisions are making you feel anxious at the moment aren't they? Is Mrs GOM standing behind you with a rolling pin?
grumpy-old-man-returns
Be honest. Your recent decisions are making you feel anxious at the moment aren't they? Is Mrs GOM standing behind you with a rolling pin? I was very anxious holding cash, now I am less anxious. next week I will be slightly anxious if i am being honest. Actually, she is fully behind me, luckily not with said rolling pin. Although come the time of said choclate box house purchase in approx 2 years time, that rolling pin may be used. I have put about a 5 year time scale on my pm's tbh. Then I chuck it all in & pay off the mortgage hopefully. I am not investing for investing's sake, it's about getting a home, not a property & that's the truth.
piece of paper
Only numbers but the last time it was over $1000 in March 2008 that was less than £500. Now it is over £600. p-o-p

Now it is over £600.p-o-p although I'm pretty sure it has been higher in GBP between then and now. it certainly has been (a lot) higher in AUD, not that I'm complaining as I am in the middle of importing a boat from the States. As an aside - UK house prices are now down around 40% in AUD.
