great anecdotal evidence of people being less frivolous with their cash

here are a few choice statements if you dont wish to visit the site

"Jaz, on the whole Bristol is a relatively affluent area and the Bristol business/commercial environment is still buoyant. There are no large scale job losses or concerns. Retail sales are down nationally but I wouldn't expect the effect on the Bristol escort/parlour market to be so dramatic.

I know that the parlour girls are very concerned about it at the present time but the feeling is that things will improve."

"Really sorry to hear that things are as bad for you as they are for me. I just don't know what's going on at the moment.Wouldn't surprise me if we end up in a recession, cos it's not just our trade that is affected. It seems to be everybody, pubs, clubs, shops, etc. Let's just hope it doesn't go on for much longer else we'll all have to look for proper jobs and we know there's no money to be made working 9-5.I've done many different jobs but none have paid the kind of money I normally earn doing this one.

Keep your chins up girls and all you punters out there, START SPENDING!!!! !

Lol

My thoughts too.

Aren't hairdressers supposed to be the first ones to suffer?

Indeed.

I had a discussion with the owner of the barbers shop I go to and he was saying he had notices takings slipping back late 04, just like they did before the last recession.

He told me that one of the first things guys do when money is a bit tight is cut back on their hair cuts. . . . . . . . . obviously some other slightly taboo sacrifices going on too

The following quotes also seem interesting:

The business is slow everywhere and for everybody. So many girls have considered cutting down their fees. Well, too many girls on the market i suppose!!
In reply to Silverado, there is a parlour not very far from me which is always open (24 Hour) and most weekends they have been shut because of lack of trade. I just don't understand what's going on in Bristol. Last week I earned less than half of what I normally earn! There is just no rhyme nor reason for it. Do you think that people just haven't got the money that they used to have?
