  1. I'm assuming this one has already been covered in a thread? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-18261597.html What the bathroom could look like! the reality
  2. It isn't, minimum would be £20+£10.25(F1 is in sports and HD, so either works)=£30.25, everyone who knows cancels sky every year to get 1/2 price basic package, so it is £20.25 pm You are right that people have their priorities wrong, my mate is gutting a repo at the moment, total pig sty inside, brand new sky dish on the outside.
  3. *Looks out of the windows* Nope still no-one sleeping on the street, still a million empty properties, and HPC still has a one track line of thought. Shit pit Barrratts wastelands here we come.
  4. Chief Executive (Head of paid service) £161,289 Director of Adult and Children's Services £132,648 Director of Environment, Development and Transport : £132,648 Director of Customers, Communities and Learning : £122,067 - £132,648
  5. I used to go up there for a wander round, have a look at the market, see what event they were doing in the indoor square in front of JL. I haven't been up since they stopped the free parking bays. Rush round before the ticket runs out, why bother.
  6. If you ever want to see the views of all these self employed delivery drivers read http://www.parcelforum.co.uk . Let me give you a hint, they are not happy bunnies.
  7. Every present I bought last year was made in the UK, completely by accident. This year I might support british industry by buying myself a little something... http://www.accuracyinternational.com/ax50.php
  8. I think that was always the case, the post above indicating it was the other way round was wrong. The original source has not been named afaik, but if I was a betting man I would put in on something stupid like being available on the enquiry website by accident.
  9. Okay hands up, who dug up and Frankenstein'd rackman?
  10. Broken hip by any chance , I'll put a packet of salt in the post, Tis the season to be sliding down that drive!
  11. As a former resident of Brentford upon Thames I approve this change, though I may draw the line at North Chiswick (acton)
  12. That's why you would have insurance, but anyway, is a criminal case actually intended to fully compensate? Wouldn't that be a job of a later civil case?
  13. That doesn't make sense, you forget that about half the IT workforce cannot have an IT degree as such a thing didn't exist at the time they were in education. In my company the maths degrees are prevalent among older people, though many have no qualification and entered through a data processing role. As you get younger the percentage with an IT degree increases until you are above 75% among new recruits (and 100% for immigrants ICT scams etc)
  14. You don't know many engineers then. I know loads from uni and every single one works in the field, some are abroad but the rest are all within in the UK. One guy even turned down a role in F1 to go with a traditional engineering firm as it has a better career path.
  15. Are you saying the farmers and other country workers should live in cities and commute to the countryside? I know HPC loves its righteous indignation, but you may just have lost the plot.
  16. (Stolen from theratandmouse) "A true Frank Lloyd Wright original, transplanted from its native home to Wales. Waterfall has been recreated with no expense spared" http://media.primelocation.com/SAGR/SALN/SALN_313229/BROCH_01.pdf ok, but then WTF? A shack, some picture that may or may not be related, two pictures of land rovers and a computer game? It really must be a bad week in the EA office.
  17. That sounds correct, al depends on the wording. There was the foxtons case involving the same http://www.bailii.org/cgi-bin/markup.cgi?doc=/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2008/419.html&query=foxton&method=boolean
  18. It just means a possession order after S21 notice, as the court must basically grant the order if everything is in order. Its done via an accelerated possession procedure instead of a full court hearing that would be required for other eviction reasons.
  19. (Looks out of the window), Nope , Still no-one sleeping on the street, and still we have the best part of a million empty homes. Your not talking about the number of houses, you are talking about who owns them.
  20. Shopping malls killed themselves. Once upon a time a trip to one might have been an experience, but as every one is now exactly the same with all the same shops, when you have been to one you have been to them all. When they die something more interesting may emerge from the ashes, a place where small shops can exist with lower rents, or maybe old idea of the indoor market where traders can start new in the business. I was interested listening to the food programme the other week, where in LA the cost of opening a new restaurant is hundreds of thousands,so they just don't open. So instead people have setup with food trucks selling absolutely everything and a totally different market emerges. Stores will adapt, but the old way of doing things need to die first.
  21. I think the thing you are all missing is that on 20K with two kids its 8.7K in working tax credit+child tax credit, so the equivalent of a mid 30's salary. Actually earning 35k would reduce that to 1k benefit, so what is the point of earning more?
  22. Chesterfield, ish Was sold some time back, 730K. Nicer than the restoration home one , but not down south so half the price. http://uk-property-listing.co.uk/property_detail/chesterfield_home_for-sale_14056.html
  23. The difference is that the "finnish" one was quoted at 53K (2005) for the kit, which is about the same as the one the op posted.
  24. I think i preferred the one on grand designs, the "finnish house", it seemed to be a simpler construction method. http://www.erlund-house.com/en/construction.php?cid=1
