Housing is tied to income and not consumer prices. £65,000 if tied to RPI, but housing never has been. Compare to wage growth then it doesn't appear so gravity defying. Yet houses average 240k. Sorry, not being a bull. What I meant was that if you look at retail prices compared to housing it basically always goes up (defying gravity) but compared to wages the ratio goes up and down - which should make people pause for thought. I'm living with the parents and my outgoings are £35/week when I don't do anything but eat and go to work. Sooner or later you'd need to buy something like new shoes, or pay your electricity bill.
