The actual interest in this story is something that kids should be taught in schools:  about media cycles, media storms, how the framing of stories can create radically different understandings, IRL trolling,   the general difficulties of understanding 'what is really going on' , and so on.

That said, I also like this story because it has relatively simple, easily accessible information that can therefore easily expose weird posting...

To be fair I don't think he was 'allowed' into the crowd. As has been frequently reported there are all sorts present, so there would have been no reason to do any 'allowing'. 

Rather it sounds like he was spotted  trying to be a nuisance, so then presumably the police decided to pull him out and/or not let him back in. One officer did slip up under pressure, but in the general context of them generally being patient, professional and clear I think that can be forgiven. I don't say that often lol!

Whether or not they are "invading" Ukraine (Russia are arguing otherwise) the point of my post is that the UK has zero chance of conquering Russia. Zero. And that's if the ENTIRE country went on a war footing.

Russia could wipe out the UK military using its conventional forces. There are literally no defences against Russia's hypersonic missiles.

If it wished, it could turn the entirety of the UK into a car park using its nuclear forces.

So the sensible thing would be to avoid provoking a fight with Russia as we are currently doing, targeting its infrastructure and bombing its nuclear bases.

My point is you are relying on Putin's mercy and restraint to prevent the UK being wiped out.
