Azerbaijan is a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights. How can this possibly happen?! I thought its mere existence prevented such actions. Russian peacekeepers are there protecting the Armenians fleeing as the Armenian govt is not doing it! The Armenian PM is West leaning not Russia friendly so make of that what you will... Russia decided to let this happen. Azerbaijan knew they could get away with it. The Armenians are fleeing as thry don't trust Azerbaijan, who don't have to do a thing now to get what they want. On the other hand Russia is glad this mess is finally over as they want good relations with both sides. I suspect everyone except the people who lived in the disputed reason is happier today.
