Not the reality of hours spent in traffic jams, or doing nothing parked on the drive/at the workplace car park. The thing that finally persuaded my Dad to ditch our family car in the early 80s was that he realised he spent more time maintaining and going on crappy errands/to work with it - than enjoying the actual freedom it supposedly brought us. Because if they tried to sell you a car based on the grim reality of crawling through towns and cities at rush hour then you'd not buy one. Real selling features would be: - an auto-crawl mode (which they sort of have with that very low speed anti bump feature) for long traffic jams - very low fuel use in queues (which they also have with those cars that switch themselves off and back on again as an eco feature) They don't sell you these features as a way of dealing with queues though. Your home is full of germs.....disinfectant your washing, your work surfaces your rim around your loo......unclean people living in unclean homes will suffer big time, germs will take over!!!!! Cover all nasty smells with aerosol spray...breathe in the droplets into your lungs....smelly socks become clean again.... Fancy creams with special ingredients and a high price will keep you young looking.....when ordinary moisturising creams that are not advertised do the same job for less so you can buy more for longer and use more often. ....because so many things are so similar, that includes cars...it all boils down to What Colour Do You Want.....White is the new Grey. Frank Hovis Posted April 10, 2016 Share Posted April 10, 2016 I loved the brother and sister who wrote into "Home Truths" that their parents had convinced them that, because people would buy all the good stuff anyway, adverts were there to get rid of substandard products that people wouldn't otherwise buy. Consequently if anything was advertised they automatically didn't want it because they knew that it would be rubbish.
