liquid
someone's alias reminded me of this game: http://www.twinbee.org/hob/play.php?snap=manicminer Does anyone remember a speccy game which was to ride a motorbike through an endless wood and avoid crashing into a tree (or upright logs as I recall) against increasing acceleration? It gave me a headache everytime I played it, but it was thrilling, if nostalgia serves me right. I can't remember the name.
Nijo
I can't think of that game exactly, but you might try Horace Goes Skiing and Kickstart. The combination of the two is close. :-)
liquid
I can't think of that game exactly, but you might try Horace Goes Skiing and Kickstart. The combination of the two is close. :-) I had a decent collection of speccy tapes but I don't recall those two, although kickstart rings a bell. Still the premise of horace goes skiiing doesn't appear to be much different to travelling 100 mph on a bike in the woods?! Funny days. Found it! http://www.spectrum.lovely.net/Deathchase.html and a review! http://www.crashonline.org.uk/01/deathchase.htm The crash online brings back a few memories. Amazing that folks bother to put this up there.

mad'un
You should download one of the free speccie emulators and there are many sites offering the tape "images" completely f.o.c. - You will find that the memory of these games is better than the reality though! Having said that though, I played head over heels, bobby bearing and skool daze for hours! Sad old speccie geeks!

Mark5290
Used to love playing Hungry Horace and Horace and the Spiders on the old rubber keyed 16k/48k machine, then i 'upgraded' to the lightning fast 128k speccy with the integrated tape player, still have it in the loft fully working in its box. New Darker Law
You sad, smelly spectrum owners with your crappy rubber keys ! C-64 was King ! You beat me to it! Pop down to Dixons and you can buy a C64 in a joystick to plug into your tv for £19.99. 30 built in games including some Epyx classics. Alternatively you can pop along to Next and pay £29.99 for it. Are they stupid or what? NDL
