TheCountOfNowhere
I suspect their plan is to get as many houses on the books as possible. The obvious way to do this is to tell prospective vendors their house is worth more than any other agents. that's exactly what one agent told me was happening. agents are desperate for stock and, they said and I quote, "agents are overpricing by up to 200k just to get stuff on their books". then went on to say some idiots were buying and they couldn't believe it. also said it was going to crash and did a big swoop action with his hand. caveat emptor

Killer Bunny
Anecdote on local rents Big surge in APs over last year The froth at least has however gone. Kite flying 4 bed cardboard box on estate reduced from AP of 2200pcm to 2000 to 1800 and now a somewhat reasonable 1700. Others being reduced from stupid to high. So at least froth gone. king_of_stretham
When might the elegantly efficient and fabulously useful website https://houseprices.io be updated with September sales? I guess when the land registry release the full figures which is usually at the end of the next month. The chap is usually pretty quick so within a few hours. winkie
The number of people I have spoken to who seem rather proud that their kids have bought around the London commuter belt (very often with help), as if it is one of the top achievements anyone might wish for in life, only four walls, same looking walls can be had almost anywhere in the UK.......but the scale of debt undertaken to reach that position is brushed aside....long-term debt commitment does not always coincide with a long-term secure, enjoyable and safe working environment with plus inflation rises every year. I wish them all well, once living in it the value is immaterial anyway, only the debt is left to pay.

spunko2010
I'm not sure if this is hilarious, or infuriating. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-35412978.html It sold 14 months ago.. for £440,000. The vendor has done nothing except replace a few windows and painted a few of the rooms (her own admission). Update... "Little Moatenden Oast" hasn't sold for 40% more than it sold for a year ago yet.. must be the agent's fault. So the vendor has switched to another one: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37134978.html I bet it'll get snapped up now. TheCountOfNowhere
Thanks man, that's been tweeted. Can you add West midlands to your search area ? Also, I read l;asy week ( been busy so hard to get to a PC at the mo ) that you dont count failed sales that are listed with a higher prices. I'd say you should count these as I think it's more a marketing strategy from the EA to scare the failed buyer into proceeding. Brilliant work though, just brilliant.
