silver surfer
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/jul/07/britains-biggest-buy-to-let-landlords-sell-entire-portfolio I never quite realised just what an ugly couple they are.
Pent Up
Id like to know the debt in the portfolio, the article speculates but it must be massive?
RentaBear
'Dear slave, we have decided to sell you to a new, unnamed master. Please continue to serve your new master as before.' What if 1000 sets of tenants chose something else?

SarahBell
" In 2010, he said the difference between his borrowing and the value of his properties "is around £180m, although it was as high as £225m." Since then, he has sold off some properties on a piecemeal basis. It is the second time the couple have attempted a trade sale of their portfolio" Is it all bluff? Sancho Panza
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/jul/07/britains-biggest-buy-to-let-landlords-sell-entire-portfolio I never quite realised just what an ugly couple they are. From the ridiculous.... 'After quitting the property market, Wilson said he will offer to help the government on housing policy. "I might help sort out the Governments Housing Problem if they pay me enough money but I am not doing it for free! There is no magic wand to create overnight the number of houses required to overcome the Housing Crisis."'

The Knimbies who say No
Hopefully its UKAR putting the screws on Fergus. Still, shows who is really benefitting from Osborne's bubbleblowing idiocy.

They are truly and utterly repulsive couple. I hope they sell their BTL portfolio for a huge profit then both slowly and painfully die of cancer, then again perhaps that's too nice for them. spyguy
He bangs on about about selling up all the time. I would guess he does not own the property. UKAR (B+B as was) probably have a massive charge on the houses. If he is selling, it'll UKAR forcing his hand - see various posts about BoI, UKAR and those idiots from Property Tribes. Yeah, I reckon he's kidding on that he's the big man dealmaker, when it's more likely Dave at UKAR is trying to work out a means of offloading 1,000 houses in the same area which show a maximal gross yield of 6%. Guest TheBlueCat
Seriously? OK, can we have a prize fund for whoever on here does her? Yes, seriously. Al least some of the properties are in her name. "many of which are owned by Mrs Wilson, 59, and her daughter Tanya, 37" http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/mortgageshome/article-1683560/Buy-to-let-icons-owe-350000-on-mortgages.html Edited July 7, 2014 by TheBlueCat
weaker
I've said it before, and i'll say it again: I assert that there are enough homes in the UK, we don't need to build any more. What we do need is Interest Rates at 5% and the ousting of the Wilsons and their ilk from the market. 5% would be a start. Then again, that'll never happen cos it would cause the banks to implode.
